With the installation of this USB thermometer, compatible Vigor routers can take continuous temperature readings from the vicinity of the router. This USB thermometer connects to the router's USB port either directly or placed nearby using the supplied 1 Metre USB extension cable. You can log into the router at any time and see the current temperature and the previous 24-hour's high/low as well as graphs. You can set thresholds so that if it gets too hot or too cold at the sensor, you'll receive an email or SMS (text message). Typical applications will be to report the temperature in your comms/IT cabinet or room, but also the general office temperature, depending on the placement of the temperature 'dongle'. USB typically allows a maximum cable length of up to 3M. Note : Exact facilities vary by router model. The colour of the device and also the USB extension cable may vary (e.g white cable for black in picture). Please note that this device is not calibrated for research, scientific or trade purposes and should therefore not be used in critical temperature applications. This product is only approved/supported for use with DrayTek routers, and only devices supplied by DrayTek are approved/supported for use with the routers.

Fine but subject to limitations in what the Draytek routers can do
Works fine, but somewhat limited in utility through no fault of its own by the fact that Draytek routers only show you the temperatures over the last 24 hours. To get much use out of it you either have to watch the page on the router's GUI closely, or set up a syslog alert.Unfortunately the current Draytek firmware is very inflexible in terms of ability to email syslog alerts, and doesn't include temperature measurements in its options. So you then need to set up a syslog server to receive the contents from which you could possibly extract the temperature measurements.Altogether a lot of hassle unless you are satisfied with just being able to see the results from the last 24 hours.

USB temperature sensor
As per other reviews there is a difference between the ambient temperature and what sensor indicates, but the software on the unit that its on does have an offset so this is not a issue.

Works fine on Draytek Vigor 2862ac + LTE router
I order this item to measure room temperature and connected to USB port on Draytek Vigor 2862ac + LTE router. It's been working fine so far so no complaints.
