Weak finish, but…
I have absolutely loved Jeremy’s run on the Flash. He brought back Wally and set up the Flash family for success in a believable way reminding everyone why we liked them in the first place. Wally especially. All the above being said, this is the weakest story based on execution. I’m not particularly fond of the artwork throughout and I feel some characters are written outside of their scope where it doesn’t necessarily feel organic to the story. This is a very high concept story and I would have loved to see more explored with it and it given more attention. What I loved about it that really stuck with me were the characters that felt like themselves and the exploration on how characters interact with each other. Impulse and Kid Flash together are standouts. It honestly reminded me why I actually do like Impulse when he’s written right and it supported giving growth to ‘Ace’(great nickname). Jesse Quick and Iris West(Wally’s daughter) also have moments to connect that really work. It’s still a well written book and the art services the story. It also sets up the next creators turn. Worth picking up.
