Manufacturer immediately replaced broken device, no hassle
UpdateSince the manufacturer replaced my remote, there have been no problems whatsoever. It has been weeks and by this time, the original item was already acting wonky.Loving the remote. Easy to use. Reliable and timely customer service.Original ReviewFirst of all, I found the Sofabaton U2 very easy to set up. It manages six devices better than expected with surrogate key assignments fairly easy to remember. In other words, functions on remotes that don't exactly match the keys of the Sofabaton U2 are assigned keys on the Sofabaton that are easy to remember.I've been using it a lot for two months, ever since it arrived and in the last two weeks or so, the roller button on the Sofabaton that scrolls through a menu of the loaded devices now behaves irrationally, jumping past devices, sometimes skipping the direction altogether and landing the selection on a device nowhere near the device I wanted, just below the current selected device.I went to the Sofabaton website and each time was told that no agent was available for the Live Chat function on their Support Page. I've left an email message twice and have yet to receive a reply. I hope support can fix my problem. I was happy with the Sofabaton U2 performance until this particular malfunction occurred.UPDATEAfter posting the review above, Sofabaton sent a message through Amazon ready to address the problem. I sent them videos of the roller scroll mechanism not working. They offered to replace it and mailed another out to me right away. I have just received it, and programmed it, and it works as expected. I am grateful for the response on Sofabaton's part and appreciate the replacement. The problematic remote it replaced continued to malfunction, getting worse each time. All is good for now. I am hoping that was just a bad unit and that this one lasts.

It's a nicer that usual universal remote, but definitely not a Harmony replacement
Update June 2024: I've had this remote about six months and the scroll wheel jumps to pretty much every entry except the one you're trying to select. This makes it difficult to use the remote for anything other than a single device. The mediocre IR range is annoying as you really need to point the remote directly at the device you're trying to control (versus OEM remotes which work as long as you're generally pointing them in the right area). If there's anything in the way (e.g. on the coffee table between you and your TV setup, such as a can of soda, a box of tissues, etc.), then you're out of luck.I'm hopeful that Sofabaton will release an updated model, because it's a promising platform. But I can't recommend the U2 right now because of these issues and those I mentioned in my original review below.=-=-=-I like that the remote is very customizable, can (optionally) learn from an old remote, and has the scroll wheel to select which configuration is currently active on the device. And I especially enjoy being able to assign any command or macro to any button. But the negatives are that there aren't enough keys to accommodate some of the remotes it's trying to replace (e.g. Tivo), it doesn't have the same range (IR brightness) as other remotes, and it's somewhat difficult to program. It's helpful to have a lot of patience and some degree of technical ability.I also had problems with Bluetooth compatibility. Once I paired it with my Hisense TV, many buttons were correctly mapped, but not all of them. So I had to revert to IR mode. The biggest negative is that I feel that it's difficult for my family to use. Trying to explain that the button you use for one function is going to be a completely different function after you scroll the wheel is confusing for someone who isn't comfortable with tech.If I hadn't used Harmony remotes in the past, I might be more forgiving, but I feel that those devices were easier to program and easier for daily use. But those are long gone, and so I'll use this Sofabaton device until something better comes along.
