Very decent for the price range, but mine arrived warped and needed fixing, so be advised
I do most of my biking just for fitness, so I usually don't choose to bike in the rain, and typically I don't ride with fenders. However, I wanted some inexpensive, light, removable fenders to keep me clean if the trails/roads are wet or muddy after a rain, and these work well for that. For someone looking to permanently mount fenders to their bicycle, they may want to look elsewhere, or consider also purchasing the optional U-stay kit for these.Like others have experienced, I needed to do a little customizing to get these to properly fit my Specialized Crosstrail bike. The front fender mounted with no issues, but the clip on the front edge of the rear fender that is supposed to attach to the seat tube interfered with the front derailer, so it needed to be cut off. I came up with a means of using a rubber band to hold it to the seat tube that works well. The rear fender rides low enough to fit under my bike rack, but because so much of the rear fender behind the mounting bracket is unsupported when not using a U-stay holder, it tends to wobble/bounce around a lot. I use a second rubber band to hold the rear part up against the underside of my bike rack, problem solved. One other important note: As stated, when these arrived, each fender had a pronounced twist/warp to it. Not sure if this was due to how they were packed or stored prior to shipment, but it was clear that these plastic fenders had been held in a non-straight position long enough to change their shape. I was able to straighten them by twisting them the opposite direction and drawing them across the outlet of a heat gun several times. If others experience this, they may be able to similarly correct the issue by using a blow dryer. Of course exchanging them would be another option, but because their packaging doesn't really protect against this happening, I would not be surprised if exchanged fenders arrive with the same issue.Had I not been able to correct this problem, I would have given them a single star and warned people away from them. But because they are now straightened and working as advertised, I would say they are a good solution for someone looking for easily-removable fenders in the $20-$30 range.

Bit of work to install, but nice and sturdy once you get them on...
These are great fenders, something between the flimsy clip-ons you can get for $15 and the full- with braces fenders. They are made of a sturdy plastic and come with very sturdy hardware.I have an old 27" men's racing bike I use for a road bike. The back fender clips onto your seat tube (the clip seems a little flimsy where it connects to the fender, but we'll see) and then has a bracket that the brake-assembly screw goes through to attach it. With just a little finagling getting the fender between the brakes, the fender went on just fine. Fits my back wheel like a glove, not rubbing. And it seems very secure. The front fender was an ordeal to get on. I had to use a hack saw and utility knife to cut notches in the edges where the finder sits in the brake assembly to get enough clearance for me wheel. Then, I had to add a washer where the bracket goes in the brake assembly to get clearance for my handlebars to turn (the bracket was rubbing the fork crown so much that it prevented it from turning). Then, I had to bend the metal bracket slightly to get the fender to fit my wheel better. All said and done, the fender fits nicely, and seems very sturdy.I enjoy all this hands-on stuff, so I didn't mind spending several hours getting the fenders on the way I wanted them. The fenders are not universal, but if you know a bit about bikes (I had my bike-savvy boyfriend to assist) you can get them on. They look nice and feel sturdy once on. The description says that these are clip-ons, but there's no way I'mm taking them off now. And even if I wanted to, the permanent hardware that screws on the bike does not easily come out of the plastic part of the fender.I would definitely recommend these as a cheap(er) and lighter alternative to full fenders, but only if you want to put a little work into custom fitting them.Haven't ridden with them, but they look like they provide good coverage.

Easy to install and light weight
These were easy to install and adjust. I have a really specific bike with 700 x 38 mm tires (REI ADV 1.1), and I had to clip a piece of the top front bracket to get it installed - but it was pretty easy to do. That's really a function of my very specific touring bike with large wheels and a very specific fork and head tube design.

Not For Me
Didn't attach to my Charge Filter Apex cyclocross frame without bits from the hardware store. The front was so long that with just the one bolt and short bracket, it barely cleared the 700x32 tire in motion. The rear needed a mish-mash of assorted screws and brackets to keep it off the tire. Unless you just want to keep the brackets in place and throw the fenders on when forecasting rain, I wouldn't recommend these without the brace kit that is sold separately. I personally like the look of fenders on most bikes when I see them OEM, but as an add on, the look didn't appeal to me at all. Had it been less maintenance, I'd want to keep them. For now, they're posted on CL for $15.

Overall I am really happy with this purchase
SKSVelo55CrossFender-700cx43-50mm SKS U-Stay Kit for Velo 55 Fender I am reviewing both the SKS Velo 55 Cross Fender and the U-stay kit as I am using them both together. I installed these on my commuting bike which is 650b x 47. Since the bike was originally a hard-tail mountain bike there were no eyelets to mount the frame on the front. The fender did work without the mounts, but when traveling over bumps it was wobbly and made noises. I purchased a fender stay mount from Velo Orange. As you can see from the picture there is maybe 1mm clearance between the fender stay and the disk brake. Overall I am really happy with this purchase. Installation was easy, it took 30-45 minutes total and there were no major fit problems.[...]
