I had a heck of a time pulling the original OEM key switches on my Keychron Q6 Pro, but this combo key switch and keycap puller hung on and refused to let go until I clicked the top button to release it!The keycap puller itself is a bit MEH, you have to squeeze the sides of the keycap puller in order to get a grip on the keycaps and more often than not the keycap flew off in another direction after pulling. I stopped using it (keycap puller) and used the cheap one sent with my replacement caps (it worked much better).I was thinking about dropping a star rating on this because of the keycap puller but reminded myself that I purchased this primarily for the switch puller, and it worked like a champ, in fact it really impressed me. The switches stayed in the puller after pulling them until you ejected them from it using the top release button, very, very cool.This is a smart design and based on the amount of force I had to use to get the original OEM switches to release, I can safely say that this is also one tough puller that is going to last me a long time!

My keyboard came with an over-long metal strip bent into a U, and one of the prongs intended to unclip the actual key was too short. It took me literally over an hour of cursing and fighting with my low-profile switches with my original to swap 104 keys.With this tool, it was SO MUCH BETTER. It was fast. It was worth the cost for me because I have two keyboards, and room mates with their own mechanicals, and nobody had a tool for it. They've let their molds go a little too long, the wire loops for pulling keys just don't stay clipped on one side and act like they're bent even though they aren't, but beyond that it was pretty perfectly built. Seems solid and reliable, from an engineering eye it's a good minimum build.The eject button is a bit of a launcher, so lay out a cloth to shoot your keys at or they'll dance across your desk.I found the most consistent use by appling next to no force ever, and just rocking until I heard the clicks of the keyswitch releasing on each side. When I tried to pull more, it always made things worse. A little side-to-side while twisting back and forth slightly, and I could legitimately go through more than two keyswitches in ten seconds. That's pretty respectable to me.A must-have if you're doing a keyswitch swap, moreso if you do several.

Update: after communicating with the seller, they were able to advise us of the correct process and the correct type of key caps switches that this works best with after that we were able to utilize it much cleaner .Original: The idea is nice, but the functionality is not here yet. I was able to pull the keycaps pretty quickly, that is for sure! Although when it came to the switches, the mechanism doesn't seem to pull the switch off. As the instructions indicate to not use excessive force, I pull steady and firmly and the switch stays pul. I would recommend saving your dollars and going to a switch puller that is durable.

I wish zero stars was an option. This is a cheaply made, poorly designed tool that will cost you your switches. The first one I received was defective and the switch pulling mechanism would not even engage. On my replacement it worked for about 6 switches before taking one as a sacrifice. The mechanism again got locked and would not engage, causing irreparable damage to the switch once I finally got it out. Save your money and buy a proper switch puller from your keyboard manufacturer.

This thing is great. I replaced all my mechanical keyboard switches and keycaps and this made it a breeze.

For pulling switches I really like this tool so far. It has held up very well and makes pulling switches so much easier and faster. With my favored previous version (the typical two sided metal wire versions) my fingers would get sore from having to squeeze down to get the switches out. It was also easy to catch the prongs on the board sometimes if your angle was off, or even go down to deep and catch the switch housing instead. None of that to worry about with this tool. Easy to line up, easy to pull and release the switch from the tool. So much more convenient! If it holds up for the long term it will be worth every penny.The keycap puller though shouldn't even be on these in my opinion though. It is way to thin and loose to be very helpful. The standard tool is very superior in this case in my opinion. Maybe it would be alright for some very large keycaps that a typical puller has trouble grabbing fully? They don't stay in place very well, either when they are extended to use or snapped into the body for storage... or when using the switch puller they come loose and get in the way in that case. They should offer a version that doesn't have the cap puller and maybe enhance the durability even more instead. They just get in the way in the current version.The switch puller is so nice though that I still think the tool is worth it, even if you are just getting into a board to tinker every once and awhile. Many aspects of the hobby are tedious and time consuming in ways that do not enhance the experience. This a great tool to make one of those things much more tolerable.
