The Perfect Tool Box
This tool box is a work of art. It feels so sturdy and well made. I learned about the Kennedy brand from some machinists I work with. One guy has had his for over 30 years. He has a large one on casters, but this smaller cantilever box is of the same quality. I feel like I could hit this tool box with a sledge hammer and it might not even scratch the powder coat. It has just the right amount of space for the essentials, and the included dividers are a huge plus. The only negative worth mentioning is that at over twenty pounds empty, this box is heavy. But I would choose heavy over flimsy any day of the week. So proud to own this top quality, American made tool box. I look forward to using this box until I'm too old and weak to carry it. Thank you Kennedy, and please, never change!

Sturdy, made in USA, great for organizing
I’m a commercial electrician and I really like this tool box. It holds everything that I could stuff into an 18” Klein canvas tool bag and much more. Basically you will only be limited by how much weight you’re willing to carry if you need to carry this box. The build quality is awesome and seems like it will last a really long time. With my tools loaded up, with plenty of room to spare, it weighed in at 70lbs. I pulled some tools I use less often and got it to 60lbs. I tend to carry more tools then I use on a regular day, but I like having the right tools for the job on hand if I get into an unsual project. The shelves help to organize tools and it’s easy to grab what you need at a glance. This style of box is much better then a bag, with or without pockets, and a standard wide open box, with or with out a tray if weight and space to store the box isn’t an issue. The box is surprisingly light when empty. As far as negatives there’s only three that I can see being an issue for some. One is that you can pinch your fingers pretty easy if you try to close it and allow your fingers to get caught between the top shelf and the inside of the top of the box. Two is that the box needs a good bit of room on both sides to fully open. Lastly I wish they put recessed side handles on this box like some of the top chest boxes I’ve been concidering. I plan on putting handles on the side but I hope they don’t get snagged when I put the box in a large gang box with other tool boxes and bags. I’ve seen at least 10 other electricians with this style box and they love it.

Who cares where it is made?
BEST CARRY TOOL BOX IN THE WORLD - FULL STOP!!My first one was stolen after I realized what fantastic quality these actually are. There are no substitutes and I had no choice, I had to buy another.Believe me, there really is no substitute. The new replacement arrived which did seem slightly lighter but slightly more stiff/sturdy than the old one, but this is an illusion because the thick metal gauge and the solid construction of this tool box is identical to the old one, right down to the fantastic chip resistant coating and the tiny detail around the hinges and joins.Best quality hinges, best quality everything has gone into this toolbox, and it is also extremely well constructed and well designed. You will not find a superior substitute for this toolbox. not even the great and famous Snap-On toolboxes are an honest match, seriously, they're not, and these don't cost nearly as much as the Snap-On alternatives!I ordered a second Kennedy cantilever just to keep as a spare. If nobody steals this toolbox I know it will last a lifetime.Get one, give it a bit of oil in the right places and see how everything moves so beautifully. Precision - Fantastic craftsmanship all round. Thanks Kennedy. This toolbox is proudly USA.Buy one, and once you use it you will realize all other toolboxes suddenly seem so comparatively cheap and nasty.Buy a second in case they stop production!! You DON'T want to be without one!

Heavy duty tool box
And by heavy, the box itself is heavy. I have the 22" model because I wanted to store some long tools. I own a number of hand held tool boxes and bag and this one is really well built. It would be easy to put more tools in it than I can easily lift, but I like the deep bottom area for the tool roll I have. The moveable partitions are all plastic, hence 4 stars instead of 5, and thus they don't stay in place as well as I would like. But I'm not using them all that much except to keep things from sliding around in the bins. This is my first hinged cantilever tool box and I like the way the trays lift out of the way when you open it up. Probably could use "one more" tool box to store some of my tools which are in a cardboard box now, and Kennedy tool boxes will be at the top of my list.12/2019This tool box is no longer on the Kennedy website. I have seen it on one other website for sale, but it looks like it's a discontinued model which is too bad, because I really really like mine after a year of use. And yes it's easy to put more tools in it than I can easily lift but I don't care because it's a great box and the cantilever trays make it easy to find the right tool.

Heavy but top quality
Heavy, but that quality construction means you can carry a lot of stuff. I'm a backyard mechanic, keep most of my tools in my basement shop. I decided that my most common car repair tools should be kept in a bigger box I could bring up as needed. So far I've fit a 24oz ball pein, multimeter, full metric ratchet wrench set, full metric combo wrench set, metric hex set, full torx set, full metric 3/8 and 1/4 socket set, set of Wiha HD screwdrivers - Philips and slotted, safety glasses, and a few other things. The box as I said, was heavy to start. It's more so now... But not excessively so.If I had to make a gripe, it's that there's no feet or protection underneath for placement on concrete or asphalt. So I need to devise something to prevent scratching.

Good tool box, but...
It's a good tool box, one of few cantilevered ones these days. However, it is way heavier than it needs to be (my old one that was damaged in a fire was much lighter and lasted 53 years), and the crinkle finish collects dirt.
