Fun, rhyming, same-more-fewer math themed book that children will request. I work with special needs preschool children and work on concepts through play, games and read alouds- this is one of the first "Math Start" series books I purchased for my practice. The rhymes, illustrations, and relatable story of shopping with Mom hold children's attention and they don't even know they are learning! Brilliant! "Typical" 2's or verbal 18 month-olds would enjoy this one...up to math challenged 2nd grade...

I love the math start series ... good stories that teach important math skills. I can't wait to read this story to my students.

I used this to bring literacy into a kindergarten math lesson. The students enjoyed the pictures and figuring out what was bought. It has a cute ending based upon what the animals bought.

We are enjoying this book! So many fun ways to open up conversations about differences in diets and likes, being kind and of course, basic math concepts.

I teach kindergarten and the students loved the funny story along with the pictures. Plus, it really helped tie in the concept of greater than and less than.

my 3yo likes this, and the concept is easy to understand. Very rote which is nice as my 3yo likes to "read" it to us.

We have most of the MathStart books. They are simply fantastic! Mr. Murphy has a knack for simplifying the concept for little kids and the illustrations are very striking. We read a new one every week and read it once a day (an idea borrowed from a friend).The books also have some activities that go with the concept.
