This is the second pair I have brought,the last pair in 2018, they last really well and are very comfortable

I purchased these shorts after finally realising that I was getting more and more saddle sore from the old shorts I was regularly riding in. I needed something with a lot better padding. So, after hunting around for anything that would fit, these got the nod at a reasonable price tag.Upon unpacking I could see that the fabrication was good, and there was a good amount of padding in these too. So I tried them on. Now, I am sure there are other large cyclists out there too who are disappointed with the lack of options for top of the size range. I'm a 40" waist (down from 42") and the XXXL size just fits me okay, but for a 42" I'd guess there might be a problem, although the elastic does allow some leeway.First time out in these shorts was an easy 10 miler. The problem I had was the lack of material around my backside - they could be a little more generous as they do tend to slip down a little once you lean forward, leaving a slightly exposed feeling at my lower back. It's manageable though. My second ride was going commando on a 62 mile sportive ride (that's relevant, as you need to have the confidence that they're not going to split and leave you exposed). No problems at all, but the padding did still get a little uncomfortable after 25 miles in, and after 45 miles I was quite sore. That's probably got more to do with my lack of endurance fitness over that distance than the shorts however.I give 4 stars because the fit is not quite perfect, although I am just above the maximum size range. I'm going to lose another inch or two, so these will come into their own.

I have been a leisure cyclist for years.Lockdown sees me doing more miles.I havent bought any cycling stuff for years so decided to refit my wardrobe.I am not really a fan of shiny Lycra shorts, I have some endura shorts which are thicker matt material but cant source this now, but the pad is basic on them.I have to say I do like these shorts, I have now done a few hundred miles with them.Maybe the waist elastic might not last the test of time? and they have been washed a few times. But they're ok.Recommendation is not to use softener, so followed that.Padding is good and positioned well.The legs seem to stay put.I am a 34 waist not skinny and the XL fits just fine, there is a mesh panel at each hip, but this would generally be under your top.The pad is good but maybe could have done with being a bit firmer to last the miles out as it does feel better initiallyBut only lost a star for the negs i mentioned. Worn these shorts a few times and the quality seems excellent. Very comfortable and I would have given 5 stars but for the sizing. I'm 5'11" tall, 12 stone and have been 32" waist as long as I can remember, but these shorts are marginally too big around the waist, not quite to the extent of needing a belt or braces, but not quite the fit I would've hoped for. Not sure whether I could have got into size S, but I know I would've been lost in size L!

After reading other reviews I went for a size above my usual so went for XL, they fit OK but I have to pull them up occasionally when cycling so I think the L would have been better, I have a 36 inch waist and I am 5 feet 10 inches but according to my wife I have a small bum so maybe that is the reason for the looser fit. So if you have a 36 inch waist and a big bum XL will fit you well :)

I purchased this product as I've been doing a few 10-20 mile rides a week and my saddle was killing me. Product arriving next day and fits well. I'm a 12 stone bloke with 32 inch waist size M fit perfect. 1st ride today, I have to cycle too and from my parents to help them which is a 10 mile ride away. All seemed good at first. They were quite comfortable, but towards this end of the first 10 miles I started to be in discomfort again in the under carriage area. On the return 10 miles it was uncomfortable right from the start and after a couple of miles it felt as though I wasn't wearing them. I definitely wouldn't buy these again.5/10

Good fit and comfortable

I was surprised at the quality for the price. I had bought a different pair a few years ago, at a similar price, and these are in a different league. The shammy is comfortable and sits in the right place. This is my second pair, very happy with the product.
