Why does the auto dimmer indicator flash in some cases?

If the lamp power doesn't meet the requirement (output voltage: 5V, output current: 1A or above), the auto dimmer indicator will flash. Make sure that you are using the USB cable that is provided and no USB extension cable is being used.

Does it block the camera on 27" iMac?

it might..i do not have a iMac 27" but if i had camera were the iMacs is it would block it...hope this helps.

I have a benq sw271 with thin bezels. this applies pressure to the lcd screen, causing ripple marks. will this cause long term damage to my display?

Yes. If it causes ripple marks. Then it is definitely adding unwanted pressure to the screen and can possibly result in the ripples not going .
