Put this up today to replace the one I had which was different.Easy to install fitted perfectly onto the pipe already in the wall.For the price you can't go wrong it opens when the fan comes on and closes when it's off.This design will also prevent water being able to come through will just run off.

Good product. Only comment is that the back draught shutter is operated by gravity so this allows a strong wind to open it. A metal spring might be a solution.

The fixing lugs on the cowling are a bit fragile but as long as you are careful when fitting it to the main body it should be fine. The backdraught flap works fine... I am pleased with the purchase and fitting was straightforward.

The extractor fan outlets on my new build home are furnished with basic louvred grille wall vents which are fine for the bathrooms and utility room however not particularly practical for the kitchen cooker extractor as cold air was constantly blasting in from outside making cooking a rather chilly experience. This cowled outlet prevents cold air from outside entering the kitchen directly due to the shape of the cover and a simple backdraft shutter making the kitchen a lot less draughty - especially in winter where there was a distinct chill around the hob. Simple, inexpensive but effective.

The side of the cowling are curved inwards restricting the movement of the flap. It does not close properly.Will be probably be returning :-(I’ve updated this reflect that when clicked into place properly, as mentioned in the product description, the flap moves freely.However, the flap moves so freely that the slightest breeze causes it to open then close which we can hear repeatedly in the kitchen. It also opens and closes with a tap when close our internal garage door.I’m currently adding weight to hold it down unless the extractor is on.

Needed for specific job this quality grille fitted the bill perfectly. Made from quality materials & easy to fit I can highly recommend this product.

Did what it was purchased for, rather flimsy but easy to fit and looks ok once fitted.
