This is a great product. I have been using it lately and am very happy with the results. I control the water flow by tying knots and have limited the travel distance to 7”, as I understand that capillary movement will not work much beyond that, which seems odd as I reflect, but it’s working!!! I do cover the containers with water to prevent water loss to the air.

If your bottom feeding your plants this rope works great for fiber planters. Use a pal size of your choice with lid. Drill four holes in lid across from each other. 12 3 6 9 o'clock approximately 1" from lid outer edge. Cut rope to length starting at bottom of bucket. Bring rope up through hole at 12 o'clock. Cross rope over top of lid then insert in 6 o'clock hole make sure rope reaches bottom of bucket. Repeat using two other holes at 3 and 6 o'clock. Place another peice cut to length to fit under the first ropes so its in a circle sitting on top of lid. That peice will absorb water off other two ropes. Fill bucket with your water or nutrients and place lid on bucket making sure your 4 ropes drop inside and touch bottom. If you use a 5 gallon bucket filled with your favorite juice or water you won't have to worry about watering your plants for weeks if not longer depending on what your growing. All plants should be feed this way. No more over watering. Fill buckets, go on a holiday... Your girls will be healthy when you get back.

Works great sucks out water fast , I put it in a bottle of water and you can watch it as it drains the bottle and now I am using the powder plant food mixed in with water and wicks the nutrients in to the plant I need a bigger container of water .i was very very skeptical but pleasantly surprised when in no time at all it drained the bottle of water and plant was soaking wet and tray was wet under plant too much water so I removed wick for a day , I just had to write this because it’s cheep and affective and could save lots of plants

This polyester self-watering cord is just as pictured and described. It comes as a long, loose length of cord in a vacuum sealed bag. The amount included is just over the 50ft advertised. The cord is good quality and works perfectly for my plants.

I saw a review saying a plain cotton clothesline works better so I bought one of those and did a test to see for myself. I was going on vacation and needed a good option to keep my plants watered. This one had better, faster water transfer rate with no yellow tinge in the water like the clothesline.

This cord worked out very well for watering the potted plants on my balcony and I definitely will be using it next year. I was surprised to find that by keeping the plants very well watered in the autumn, I was able to extend the time some of them were blooming right until the first hard frost. I recovered the cords I used this year and, from their condition, it appears they will be reuseable for many years to come.

I was out on a trip for 2 weeks so I tried the ropes for my plants. I put one end of the rope in a bucket of water and the other deep into the soil, It worked great, all my plants were moist, happy and alive.

This system slowly waters the plants So far it's working well. Still testing to see how long it takes to have to refill the jugs. The large milk jugs are lasting about 3-4 weeks. Perfect for when you go on vacation.
