These candles have two good things going for them. First, the scent is nice. Second it doesn’t bother my girlfriends asthma- so she finally had a candle that actually works for her. However, they are blatant false advertising- “ 20-HOUR BURN: Each long-lasting votive burns up to 20 hours for a rich sensory experience” is 100% false. Prior to gifting these to my girlfriend I decided to test one candle. It lasted around 2 hours before it had melted away. I’ll reiterate: after just 2 hours, the supposedly 20 hour votive had melted down so much the flame died out. This is absolutely not worth the purchase.

The first time I smelled this candle was 20 years ago when I went to look at a new apartment complex and they had one burning in the lobby of the leasing office. I had to ask what it was. Back then, you could find Root candles at Yankee stores, so I got a scents at the mall for my new apartment. Once they disappeared from Yankee stores, I thought they had been discontinued and was so upset. I was more than excited to find them a couple years later online. They still smell the same... a little floral, a little citrus, a little honey. It is a soft inviting scent that really does work well for any time of year. It pairs well with the spicy, warm scents of Fall and Winter, or the florals and island scents of Spring and Summer. One 3 wick candle is enough to float throughout the house. The wax in these burns clean and evenly. After 20 years, I still love this brand and scent.

I’ve purchased multiple jars from Root at a local store, so I thought I’d give online a try since I fell in love with the brand. Terribly disappointed. There’s HARDLY any scent from the candle, and it melts unevenly like a previous reviewer stated. Not sure what’s going on since I have zero problems when I purchase from the store. Definitely returning.

1. Smell is very nice. Long burning time. Votive candles were individually plastic wrapped. Delivery fast.2. Doesn't burn completely. We wrap the 2nd votive candle completely in aluminum foil now it burns completely melting all the wax like it should. Make a cup with the aluminum foil put candle in bring up sides. I like to bend the edges a little toward the candle to make sure it doesn't leak out.3. The first one we burn big junks of wax was left on the sides which was very disappointing had to throw away. It was in a old tin candle holder so threw the whole thing away.

The candles are well made and long lasting. The problem is with the seller. I received hot chocolate, not Lavender Vanilla. The colour is fine, however, the smell is disgusting. It makes me sick to my stomach. Amazon should check employees for colour blindness. Lavender does not resemble dark, dark, chocolate. The product was not mismarked. It was the employees mistake. Root candles are expensive. I do not appreciate the mistake.

First off this seems to be a high quality candle - nice glass container, burns strong and steady without smoking. But where's the lavender? completely MIA. This brand seems to be hit or miss when it comes to fragrance. Some, like the Honey or Grapefruit have nice, strong scent, but others are really weak. I usually buy Votivo candles because their scents are super strong, complex, and natural, but they cost almost twice as much for a similar size and aren't made with beeswax. Thought I would try to save a little money, but you get what you pay for.

Ordered 2 candles. They arrived on time. I opened the package which didn't appear to have any damage and took out one of the candles to burn. Now that it burnt out, I got the second one out of the box, unwrapped the bubble wrap and felt what I thought was excess wax fall away. Nope, it was glass...evidently the glass from the candle jar was broken after it was wrapped, but before it was boxed for shipping.I've been very happy with my previous purchases, this was disappointing considering the cost and the fact I'm going to have to toss this one.

Big fan of Root Candles, but this one was not that great. In fact, there is not really any scent at all.

Please don't buy this candle. First smell bad and burning very lowNot close to lavender smell. Smell like your gas line is leakingI used only 3 times and is more then half gone for 50 hours candle
