Free observations: The most important part is that you have wet fingers. This material becomes malleable and easy to work with when it's wet. Scoop out about the amount you would want and then wet it with your fingers. Once you've put it on your tooth you'll want to bite down let it squish around get to where it needs to get to. Don't worry too much about the excess at this point, but if any squishes out of the tooth then you can remove that. For the next 20 minutes I would suggest biting down on something absorbent like tissue or a paper towel. This will help dry it out a bit and let it start hardening into your tooth. Once it gets a little bit hard after about 20 minutes you can try to pick out some of the extra parts you don't like. If you do it too early or if you're too aggressive with it you might pull the whole filling out. Even if some gets stuck on your tooth in a place you don't like it you can always pick it out later. Remember this is a temporary filing. I suggest doing this at night after you've done all your eating for the day. That way you'll have more than then recommended 2 hours for it to set. I would continue to bite on the absorbent towel on and off for the next couple hours before bed. I'd also suggest if avoiding feeling the filling with your tongue, this both re-wets it and potentially moves the filling. I know that will be hard. By the next day you'll be good to eat or do anything else you need with it, but I do recommend not brushing it too vigorously. Also avoid touching it with your tongue it over and over again because it does wear down over time. It's not a permanent filling like the ones you get from the dentist, and my experience it tends to wear down in 5 to 7 days depending on how much you put in. Fortunately this comes with two containers that will have more than enough to keep your tooth filled for several months even with reapplications. I tried a more expensive solution here on Amazon that cost around $40 thinking that it must be better than this really cheap one, only to find that that filling fell out both times I tried to use it. I went ahead and returned that and got this and this has been way better definitely worth the extremely reasonable price. Definitely recommend.

Very short expiration date. What a waste. I love the product and have used it for years. ThisIs one of thos items you should always have in your first aid kit. Because when you need it, you need it immediately. Perfect for re-cementing crowns or for when you’re filling falls out until you can get to the dentist. Which for us seems to always be on a weekend or a holiday when dentists aren’t open. This is why I always keep it in my first aid kit.

Bad batch. Just bought end of November 2023. I’ve used before and know how to properly place so that it hardens and sticks into tooth to dry. This brand has always worked well for me when I needed it. However it seems as though they’ve put a bad batch out to shelves, that does not work at all. Following instructions-the moment you try to get it on your finger, it smears into crumbs and disintegrates on fingers. I’ve tried it repeatedly with same results. If you manage to get a small ball of it on tooth, disintegrates in your mouth, also repeatedly. It does not harden at all. It just falls apart until you swallow it or wipe it all out of your mouth. I’ve talked to Dentemp, they refused me a refund, claiming it’s because a third party store is selling their product. However, when you go directly to Dentemps website, and you click on their option of “where to purchase this item”, it is Dentemps site who takes you directly to that “third party”- seller. So Dentemp is putting out junk right now, but not taking responsibility for it when their customer spent money on a product that isn’t working correctly. It seems I can’t count on them anymore. Afraid to buy it again now because I might end up with the same problem with a new container. I have two different lot numbers and they are both completely unusable. The bad lot numbers are: A65343 & A65344. Update 12/3/25 (New batches work well now): Ordered again from Amazon, & bought from Acme; seems the quality is the way it used to be now, thankfully. At this point newest batches are working out properly.

Didn't work but I think it might have if the build-up didn't break off with the crown . I've used this stuff in the past with no problems but I just couldn't get it to work this time .
