I had been eyeing this bag for a while on the coach website and was pleasantly surprised to see it on Amazon for $200 less. It’s exactly what I wanted. Simple, classic, spacious and light.

This is a beautifully made backpack. You can tell the design was very intentional, as it has lots of convenient pockets, and a good tech sleeve. I really like the traditional silhouette. It is spacious and would be great for use as a work bag, or for a short trip.

This backpack is a very nice pebble leather. Soft, yet firm enough to be practical to actually use to carry things -- not just as a fashion accessory. It is a decent size and would be good for someone to carry a laptop and some work or for a student to use. It would be a great weekend bag too. I don't think it will comfortably hold my 2 full size laptops which is kind of a bummer and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars. The zippers are substantial and all the hardware was wrapped to protect it during shipping. It is well-made and understatedly elegant.

I frequently travel and work out of my backpack. I currently have a vintage leather pack which is actually quite versatile. So, that is the one I will be contrasting this Coach Charter Backpack against. This backpack is quite roomy and yet compact, with subtle rounded lines. So, wearing it over one shoulder navigating pedestrian traffic should not be a problem. You have three main compartments, a smaller zipper closed compartment on the front, for smaller items, a larger main compartment followed by a larger dedicated laptop compartment at the back of the pack. Both of those are also zipper closed. This pack lacks side pockets, which my pack has. This decreases the width of the bag. But those compartments are quite useful for me to put my chargers, mouse, etc. The absence of these makes everything small need to go in a large open pocket. If you do not have some small containers or bags to put things in you can wind up with a jumble in there pretty quickly. I would prefer a few more compartments, even if interior to this large pocket. The center pocket can be used for books, folders, etc. It is also a large open compartment. It does have a soft divider and a zippered pouch on the front of this divider. This compartment is of a good size and well thought out. In the rear, towards the back, it has a large open compartment designed to accommodate a full sized 15" laptop. This is a nice feature, as the laptop will be very well protected.The build quality and attention to detail is top notch. When I opened it there was literally a protective paper cover attached to every zipper pull and tab on the backpack. Everything was wrapped and protected. It literally took ten minutes to pull all of these off and get the backpack ready to use. The finish is a beautiful matte pebbled black. it should offer very good weather resistance and be scuff and wear resistant. It has oversized zippers which should wear extremely well. Zippers breaking have spelled the demise of many backpacks I have owned. The straps have good adjustment and are comfortable. It has an all-important top grab handle. If you wear it, the mesh back will keep you cool.This is a very nice-looking designer pack. In my judgement it will perform very well as a commuter pack or for use as a carry on. For a work go bag I would prefer a few more compartments. I typically have the usual mouse and charger(s). But I also tend to have a portable hard drive, a bag of assorted cables, a bag of USB drives, pencils and pens, calculator and more. These all must go in the single zippered pouch. So, for serious "work out of your laptop" use you may need a more purpose designed pack. There are no negatives other than personal preference. I'd go with 4.5 Stars and will round up.

Very stylish and modern looking Bag. Suitable for a man or woman.It is a great size, and can actually fit lots of things, it doesnt stretch but it also holds its shape nicely without being filled!It is soft and very high quality, feels very durable and comfy to wear and use.Great gift or buy for yourself, you''ll get lots of compliments!

I was looking for a new backpack to travel with and found this Coach Charter Backpack. This is a very nice leather backpack, the leather is strong and durable but also soft and supple. It has 3 zippered compartments – a small one in the front embellished with the “C” Coach logo, a middle compartment that is a very good size and features a laptop / tablet sleeve with a zippered pocket, on the opposite side are 3 open pockets for storing a mobile, pens & glasses / keys. The compartment is a good size 15”H x 12”L x 5”D – a lot of space! The 3rd zippered compartment is 15 ½”H x 12”L x 2 1/2”W – another spot to carry a laptop. Behind the 3rd compartment, the back side is padded with mesh fabric on the exterior for air flow and coolness.The shoulder straps are padded on the inside for comfort and adjustable for just the right fit. The zippers glide very well and the interior lining fabric is quite nice and embellished with “Coach”.A few features that would have been nice – a small hidden zipper pocket in back for a wallet, a luggage trolley handle pass-through on the back, a usb power bank connector and a key leash – none are essential of course, but nice features to have.Overall this is an exceptional leather backpack by Coach. It is very well-constructed, with high-end quality materials and very spacious – from Coach, a brand with a stellar reputation for quality goods.
