LED Lenser Automotive Rechargeable Torch

I have always carried a torch in my car but, more often than not, when I have needed the torch, the batteries were dead. Having recently bought a Honda Civic I purchased this torch and have been delighted with it. It is a little more expensive than some others, but the stainless steel casing will not crack, scratch or rust. It replaces my cigarette lighter perfectly, looks as though it could have been factory supplied and gives off a nice blue glow when charging. It delivers an excellent light when used and will always be ready when needed. An extremely well made product that performs well - I highly recommend it.

Looks-wise the Lenser is well ahead of it's rivals. It's very small but it's still too long to allow the lid on the ashtray to close. It comes in an upmarket box & gives the impression of costing a lot more than it does. There is an adaptor for large sockets which makes the torch easier to get a hold of if the socket is deeply recessed.The only downside is that the battery pack (two button batteries shrink wrapped together) must be fitted before use. They go in positive first (i.e. the opposite way to normal) so the negative terminal is next to the bulb. The hard-to-see sticker can be easily missed so you may think the torch is faulty if you fit the battery wrongly.In use, this little torch is a real Mighty Atom putting out a lot more light than my Maglite which is 3 times the size. It will easily fit into a purse though there's no fixing for a lanyard. As an emergency torch to be kept in the car it fits the bill, especially as BMW no longer fit a glovebox torch.

The torch itself feels well made but needs to go in an adaptor to fit in my car cigarette socket, the torch didn't fit well and had to be wriggled around to make a good contact. All in all a bit hit and miss. The adaptor is an ugly plastic block in contrast to the nice stainless steel torch. Just to make matters worse when the torch is pulled to use it the adaptor comes out as well and then has to be pushed back. Shame really - what would be a nice product is ruined.

Works well but does'nt last very long. Quite bright but starts to dim after 10-15 minutes. Its left permanently on charge in our motorhome. Also the on off is very stiff. I have the cheaper spotlight version as well which we tend to faver because of the on off switch.

Very disappointed - lenser normally very good products. |Indeed this feel typically high quality but with or without the adapter it would not sit snugly in either of my car's 12V sockets. I returned it and bought a cheaper product, MCCC Rechargeable 250 Lumens Small LED, which fits perfectly and works very well.

I now have two of these,one in each car. This handy little superbright LED is great for when you need that extra illumination that an interior light just cannot give. Cool blue glow when charging and when charged sits neatly in the cigar adaptor until needed. Twist the top section of this extremely well engineered stainless steel shell and the wide angled light is great for rummaging around in the footwells of the car or in the boot when you have dropped something. As for a long distance light, well that's perhaps where a little improvement could have been made as this light does lack a focus lens for pin point distance accuracy.

Obtained this to use in car. It provides a good light, each charge lasts a very acceptable time, and it fits into the palm of the hand well so can be easily carried and used as a flash light.

This is a very good quality product but be aware that it does not fit the lighter socket in a new shape ('05 and later) Mini. Saying that I have had similar problems with other charging devices in the Mini. I now have it in my VW Golf and it works perfectly.Torch is slightly longer than a lighter and comes with an adapter for wider sockets. Not sure what vehicles though as I think the VW's one is pretty standard. Not the brightest single LED I have seen but adequate for occasional/emergency use and has the most clearly defined beam I have seen from any torch. Made made from what looks like turned steel and is very solid. Another plus point is that the rechargable battery is easily replaceable. Would highly recommend, just not for a Mini.
