HP Pavilion Wave Compact Desktop Computer with Amazon Alexa, Intel Core i5-7400T, 8GB RAM, 1TB hard drive, 256GB SSD, Windows 10 (600-a310, Black/Fabric)

I was looking to replace my 8 year old core I7 tower computer which was still running well, but after many updates I just did not want to stick any more money into it. I am not a gamer and did not need a big powerful computer any more, but I still wanted something that could handle a big job if I needed it to. After finding nothing that was better then I had in my old tower computer, I ran across this one on a few sites. It had many things that fit what I was looking for in a computer. First this was the latest model out, so I spent a little more for that. Older models were cheaper, but this one was better in may ways. Here are somethings I really like about this computer:1. The 250gig ssd drive is great. This is a must if you want a fast computer and this drive is the ticket. This computer is fast!2.The 1 trig data storage drive is very good. Both drives are upgrade able if needed and does not look to hard to do.3.The 8 gig memory is good for most users and this to is upgrade able. I may do this soon if I feel I need to, but as of now I do not see the reason to do it.4. The integrated video drivers hands my 40" TV monitor with no problems and it was very easy to adjust it just right. It will handle 2 monitors.5. The bluetooth keyboard that is included works very well. I found it far better than the one I had used on my old Mac. I did not use the included mouse my Logitech MX master was much better.6. Looks of the unit is great. Like a little piece of art sitting on my desk.7. This model has Alexa built in to it and it works good, but not as well as the echo. It only has 2 mics which maybe some of the problems I was having. It just was not as fast as an echo. I am guessing with future updates of the app it will improve. One surprise I had was how well Cortana works on this computer. Never used it much on my old one, but is very smooth and responds fast on this unit.8. The speaker is very good for as little as it is, but I think the sound I get out of my Amazon Echo is better.9. It is very quiet. Some online reviews I saw complained it was noisy. I don't know what they are talking about, I does not make a sound except what is coming out of the speaker. The fan runs very quiet.10. Easy setup. If you think using a computer is hard, get this one it almost sets itself up for you. You just speak to it and the computer does it all.I do miss the number of ports I had in my old computer, but after working with this one far a week it has not been a problem.You can find this model out there cheaper, but It will be missing Alexa. It is not just the app you need, but the other things that are in this model. If you want Amazon Alexa on the computer make sure it says it in the description. Would I buy this one again, Yes. You will be happy if you did too.

A good looking mini tower that fits nicely on a shelf. Quiet, fast and has Alexa built in making it very useful for smart home controls in the room.

This computer should be sold with 16 GB RAM as an option. After I upgraded the RAM, the number of open programs I can run at the same time grew very large - wonderful machine! I run two monitors, all Office apps, 2 browsers, 2 firewall and malware suites, even Adobe (the only bloated app that begins to slow it down! 12 background programs Adobe? Really?). Great graphics despite what other reviewers say. This compact great looking computer is still years ahead of its time. Most real complaints in other reviews could be solved with the additional RAM.

I love the computer until either h.p. or amazon disabled hand free mode. now even the the keyboard shortcut does not get her to do anything .now it is just like any other computer

I purchased this device because it had everything we wanted and needed, had a great price point, and all of the reviews here on Amazon (only 6) and outside were very positive. The price-point beat the Samsung competitor out of the water in that a comparable Samsung "ArtPC" that matched didn't have the hybrid HD, had fewer options and was far more expensive. On "paper", the HP Pavilion was the obvious choice.Boy, was I wrong on that one! We could not even complete the set up because the keyboard was unresponsive. There is a bulletin alert for hundreds of HP devices that seem to have similar issues. Yet, no recall yet (HP stocks are deeply underwater - the company is in the red), but with so many devices affected by whatever it is, I doubt HP will do much to correct the issue. I could not get through to HP support (no 24-hour support), and Amazon tech support discouraged me from buying HP when I considered just getting an exchange.I really wanted this to be what it advertised as being. It's a beautiful computer and a truly great concept. I hope they correct the issues.It's SO disappointing because it's a beautiful machine. I really wanted this to work out and tried so many things to problem-solve. Tech support recommended returning the PC for a refund and purchasing a different device.I don't think I believe the positive comments on here... I'm returning it tomorrow. The HP support was useless.

I said all of the statement below after initially setting up the device. Decided so sent it back and prepared to wipe the disk. Used the reinstall option. Started it up and low and behold Alexa got installed. I can only think that my Norton security was somehow to blame. This is a nice compact desktop with good speakers. That's why I bought it. However, I was intrigued by the Alexa option so paid the extra fifty or so dollars for the machine with Alexa. Terrible result. Set up the machine and transferred my data as it was a replacement for an existing HP Desktop. No instructions as to Alexa but upon booting the first time it placed the Alexa shortcut on the Windows task bar. Tried the wake word "Alexa" but nothing. Pushed the button and nothing. Tried customer service and after 5 hours on CHAT with 16 different service reps was sent to HP customer service. Had tried them first earlier in the morning and they dumped me onto Amazon claiming it was not their software. Support was terrible but after the reinstall I like the end product. Now carefully bringing my old files over. Don't know whether to install Norton..
