This stove is well built and built to last. Chef Daryl
The media could not be loaded. The Drhob butane/propane gas stove is well built and built to last. The construction is nothing but stainless steel and heavy sheet metal. The valve is very sturdy and seems to have well fitting o-rings giving a good resistance when turning the gas on and off. When hooking up the gas cylinder to the stove there is a notch that aligns with the special cylinder making a solid lock when filling the unit. The igniter is ceramic based with a stainless steel probe that angles over the burner. When the lever is depressed, this unit throws the spark, which ignites the stove first time and every time. The only problem with the stove is the gauge that does not completely register full at any time but does register empty. After using the stove several times, I find that this is actually no problem in the operation of the stove and when filling it the gas flow ceases letting you know the stove is full. Filling the stove depending upon the level inside the stove can take anywhere from approximately 8 seconds to three minutes 15 seconds. The actual burn time of the stove when full, last approximately 48 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes burn time. When using the stove outside if there is any Breeze at all it is helpful to have a windscreen to protect the flame on the stove keeping the cooking time at its maximum. As a retired chef, I highly recommend this stove as I have used various types of stoves in the same category. This stove is equal or better than most of the stoves that I have used.

A Bit Kloogy... but works (Update)
5/20/19: The plastic bits that hold the fuel hose underneath the unit have broken away. They get cold when charging the unit and break off. Now when I charge it, I have to hold it in place with one hand while the other turns open the needle valve and manages the fuel canister. You cannot leave the hose attached on its own anymore either. Down to 2-stars from the original 4-star review... Start: I just threw out my 15000 BTU gas burner because it kept breaking down and they changed the replacement parts so it couldn't be repaired. I bought this unit knowing it wasn't as hot at a claimed 10000 BTU's, but I use it primarily with a briki for Greek coffee and surmised it would be hot enough for that... and it is. I use the 16 ounce green Coleman disposable propane bottles in conjunction with this unit via an adapter by Lixada purchased here on Amazon that fits the hose included with this burner. Once I figured out to use the little venting button on the bottom of the unit wshile 'charging' it from the Coleman fuel, it worked fine as a portable unit. I tipped the bottle upside down while filling it and released the vent button with a Philips screwdriver until a very little liquid propane squirted out... then just turned the bottle upright and let it 'charge' for a couple of minutes... shut off the valve. The needle has stayed pegged to the right for a total of 56 minutes so far, and that's with it on high for most of that time. You can also just leave the propane bottle hooked up to the stove, but you can't lay the bottle on its side or liquid propane could leak from the seal with the bottle once it freezes at the valve, and the hose is pretty short. One star taken away for little things... the gauge isn't on straight... there is this weird 'flare up' point when you turn the valve open where it is low flame... it surges to a higher flame... then it goes back to a lower flame before increasing to maximum as you turn the control knob anti-clockwise, opening the valve. It's not dangerous or anything... just weird. The flame is also really concentrated to a point, so if you're using larger pans, you'll have a 10000 BTU hot spot in the center of your pan. Works great with a briki though!

It’s just ok
It’s good but not great. The gauge is not consistent or it doesn’t work and the tank is small. Perhaps connecting directly to the propane would be better but using it as is with the refill method is only for a quick, low heat cooling.

Worked One time...
Well it worked once, should have guessed by the by the ad and directions which where in very poor English that this would be junk. Did not ad to my camping experience, when I am out in the middle of the woods. Do not count on this. ! But the reviews were good LOL

You can even use regular lighter butane to fill it!
Recommend not cooking meals that take a long time to cook. This is why I had a problem with the stove. I still think it's a unique and well built unit. Just be careful cooking for long periods or you might have problem I did.... read onUpdated Dec. 1st, 2018. I thought this was a heavy duty stove as you can see here: This is one heavy duty mini stove, well built and sturdy. But there is a very bad weakness built into this stove right where the gauge is. This part for whatever reason has a plastic housing for the gauge, and after using it for a couple or do months the plastic around the gauge melted and caught on fire under the surface plate of the stove causing irreparable damage to the gauge and valve situation. In other words it caused a catastrophic failure of the unit making it unuseable.Customer Service had no problem refining me my money in full without having to send the unit back. That was top notch, and I applaud their dedication to putting customer number one.The storage bag is really nice, but the extra line supposedly for propane isnt going to work on your normal every day tall single use green propane bottles. To make up for that I discovered that you are not limited to just the butane bottles you can find at the dollar store, but you can also fill the stove with your regular every day butane lighter refill bottles, and it fills this the same way you would a lighter too.The ceramic stone centerpiece is a unique heating element that prevents flare ups that can occur when you use butane hooked up to a stove thru a line.Much better controlling heat with the real nice quality knob, and the guage is okay, just dont rely on it for anything but a guess.Really does the job, and is compact enough to use anywhere.Just don't cook long timed items on this and u s/b just fine.
