Great little cooler, only minor issues
I bought this cooler quite a long time ago (roughly 1 year ago), to replace the stock Intel cooler that came alongside my i5 4690k. So far, I haven't been disappointed.I received the item in a small red box and upon opening it I immediately noticed that a few of the fins on the heatsink were bent. Now, albeit on the cheap side, I expect an item I order to be in good condition. The heatpipes were roughly cut off on the top and really damaged the aesthetic for me. However! I bought this for the improved performance, and after bending the fins back into place I set about mounting it onto my motherboard. This cooler requires you to install a backplate to the underside of your motherboard, so bear that in mind. It comes with two sets of mounts - one for Intel and one for AMD. All fittings except the backplate and fan mounts are made of metal and are very strong; don't worry, it wont fall off!It comes with a small bag of unmarked thermal compound, but I used some Arctic MX-4 I had lying around. After the installation I fired up some benchmarks and WOW. This little cooler improved my temps by about 20 degrees. Maybe it was the combination of a new cooler and paste but I definitely got my money's worth. It even outperforms the Hyper 212 EVO, according to reviews of that cooler. My 4690k was OCed to 4.5GHz and running prime 95 at about 75 degrees max, for a good few hours. However a cheap cooler has its downsides as well. As I mentioned before quality control isn't exactly the best, and build quality is mediocre, with the fins being rather flimsy. Another problem I ran into was the noise. At idle it was very quiet but as soon as a heavy load was put on the CPU and temps went up it got REALLY loud. At 2400 rpm (the max I've seen using HWMonitor) it can be heard from outside my room. But this only happens during synthetic tests, and while doing a light task such as gaming it can be hardly noticeable.Overall this little cooler can do big things for your cooling if you are upgrading from stock. Its great value for money, and fits in most cases as well!

Simple and flexible
Nice simple design.Instructions do not mention that you should remove the fan first giving clear access to all four mounting clips. The mounting clips are in a square, so the unit can face front to back, or top to bottom (in a tower case). The fan can be mounted on either side of the fins, pushing or pulling airflow as preferred (or leave off for silence, with low power CPU).This also allows you to choose where to place the corner that exits the power cable (i.e. rotate the fan position). All marginal stuff but those who build their own systems know it can matter!

Great for the price, tricky clips
I bought this as part of a budget build and it has installed nicely. Providing grease was nice but used a higher quality thermal paste.I would say that it is best to remove your motherboard to install this, particularly for the fan installation. I found the instructions very useful until the installation of the clips. The hole which you hook the clips into is the same hole as the antivibration rubbers. It does take a lot of force to install the clips which resulted in a few bent fins, managed to fold them roughly back into place. No comment on noise due to being a WIP build but overall happy with the quality.Would recommend.

Perfect for what I needed
Perfect for what I needed. Just as cool as the broken all in one pump it replaced and just as quiet.

Bargain cooler does the job
I bought this cooler in July and it has done a great job of keeping my CPU cool. So much so that the replacement fan I put on it rarely spins at over 800 rpm. I found the included fan had too much of whine for an HTPC application. However since the cooler was cheaper at £14 than some PWM fans, it was not too painful to buy a better fan and still spend less in total than for many competing coolers.
