This dress just screams Mad Men. The second I put it on, I felt like Joan Holloway Harris, minus the fire engine red hair! It is of a heavier fabric, a synthetic that is often used in dresses found on Amazon. Whereas it isn’t the softest or the most breathable, it is ideal for traveling, or for when you have to go from working all day to a party or date night. It takes a whole lot to wrinkle it. It drapes well and is not at all see-through. It has enough stretch to accommodate bending, crouching, reaching, with ease. It certainly hugs every curve. Be aware that this is about as bodycon as they come, and structured shapewear is a must, because any bumps, rolls, or bulges that remain after you put it on will be magnified. It’s not a dress for the faint of heart! This tended to run even tighter than others I have of a similar cut, meaning a pencil dress. That’s OK, considering the look the maker was going for. The one thing I ding it for is the bust darts are grossly misplaced. The girls would have to be up in my throat and unrealistically close together to fit this configuration. I have, however, altered one dress with the same problem to fit much better, so I will do the same here, although not looking forward to the time consuming task. Whereas this isn’t the dress for showing off cleavage, with its portrait neckline, the girls will be definitely focal. The overall word I think best describes this dress is “snatched.” Very, very snatched. The blue color is rich, a perfect compromise between royal and navy. I ended up feeling Ike it needed just a little something to give it a bit of zing, so I added a red belt (also from Amazon.) Coupled with simple, classic red pumps, I felt it made the whole thing pop, and made the difference between sending it back, which I strongly considered, and keeping it. It also gave me even more of the “Joan” vibes. I have included 2 pictures with the belt and 1 in only the dress, without the belt. For reference, I’m 5’5”, 118, 34DD, and the small is a good, if close, fit. No straining at the zipper, no difficulty getting it over the hips or bust. Be aware that your waist will be in the spotlight when you wear this, so it’s possible that it might not showcase the apple shape to its best advantage. I would advise sizing up if you don’t like wearing snug dresses. Whereas it isn’t perfect, if you’re going for that elegant 50s look with just a whisper of vixen, this is a great option.

I love the look of the dress. The color was great and the sizing was good. It has a very classic style and is a snug fit. It definitely shows your curves, fit tightly, but is entirely stretchy. I am returning it because the fabric is quite thick and I get hot easily. It wouldn't be something I could wear at an event with a lot of people without roasting. If fabric feel is something you feel strongly about, this may not be the dress for you.

Love this dress. I have worn it twice and have gotten so many compliments. The material is nice but will probably look better if it is professionally cleaned and pressed first. Very pleased with this purchase.

Beautiful Dress, fit well. White dresses are tricky. The material is on the sheer side so I had to return it. It would have been perfect if it had a lining sewn in. But I’m going to try it in a different color because the style is flattering to the body.

its unlined and its like suzy shier type quality. its fine for the office or funeral. there's a lot of stretch. there are darts/ contours, but it fits a bit big on me - hour glass figure - 5.2ft -130lb -- 34inch bust -26 waist and 38inch hips. i had to use a belt to remedy the looseness. I ordered a small and usually am a usa size small. I would have ordered an XS if it was available. you may need shapewear with this because its unlined. easy to walk in and not too tight on hip area. can easily move in it. does not expose alot of cleavage. very pleased will be wearing this to a spring funeral
