The media could not be loaded. I picked this because it said “stainless steel” that is very important. Other metal meat grinders cannot be washed in the dish washer or above 120 degrees. My tap water is 120 degrees. This stainless steel model will hold up. It will not start leaving black residue on your hands if you wash it in a dish washer. Spend a little extra and get this one. Buy it nice or buy it twice. If you see a different model for less, look for the word stainless steel. If it doesn’t have it, don’t buy it. This is the one you want.

This grinder is wonderful! I ground 40 pounds of pork shoulder with my KitchenAid and this attachment the day I received it without any issues. The instructions for setup are very clear. I love the idea that because it is stainless steel it is dishwasher safe, but the purist in me makes me hand wash it anyway. It is heavy, so I do believe that it will outlast this old lady, so one of my kids will likely be happy to inherit it! Even the hamburger press is stainless steel! If you are looking for a workhorse that will last for a long time this is a great choice. I do recommend it.

I haven't gotten to the point of wanting a dedicated standalone grinder/stuffer, but have had a couple different mixer attachment kits. The direct comparison is with the KitchenAid (KA) branded grinder, which has come up in price to be comparable. This grinder is more beefy than the KA, and flexes significantly less while grinding pork or beef. It also didn't completely choke on sinew, which I've had a problem with in the past.The feeding auger has been the only part I've run into question with. Under certain conditions, it can start putting back pressure on the subject being transferred and the grooving on the housing allows media to move towards the power head instead of pushing it all out through the plate. I do tend to run it pretty hard, so maybe I'm pushing it past its design limit there.Overall, I've been really happy with the performance and versatility of this grinder.

This grinder is well made, and is very strong and rugged. The Kitchen Aid grinding attachement is not made any where near as well. This unit is Stainless steel, comes with a lot of different attachments, and even a great burger press! At a time where we are seeing a lot of contaminated meat that is ground, I like the idea of grinding my own. I also plan to try making my own peanut butter with this grinder, I think it may work very well! I don't know if I will, but it even comes with sausage stuffers!The old Kitchen Aid grinder I have does not work well, and is made from cast aluminum. This one is stainless steel, and is better quality and easier to clean as well.I like this grinder a lot, and I recommend it, It is excellent quality, and has enough attachments to be able to do many things!

I have a large stand alone grinder for bulk processing. But there are times when I just want to make a smaller batch of ground beef mix for burgers or some sausage. This is perfect for that and a quality product that should last.
