This is a good thing, once you know it does it
This oven seems to be "hotter" than previous ovens, as it takes less time to cook things. This is a good thing, once you know it does it, you know you can reduce timings. It looks sleek, I love that the knobs retract so that I can clean them and one of the things I was looking for in an oven was easily removable glass, so that I can clean it easily. Very happy so far.

There are a lot better ovens to buy
It cost quite a bit of money and it smells a lot when cooking , it'very difficult to clean and the ceramic coating that is supposed to burn off the grease does not seem to work very well. The good bit is it is easy to take off the doors toclean

Best grill of any electric oven we've had
Decent piece of kit. Best grill of any electric oven we've had. Toasts bread almost as well as an open fire. The knobs can be tricky for anyone with impaired hands e.g. through arthritis.

I realised how poor the build quality was
Our old oven gave up the ghost so I spent a long time trying to find the ideal one to replace it. I opted to spend a bit more and go for a quality brand known for it's build quality and reliability. The dials to control the top and bottom are recessed so you push them in so they pop out to use. But as soon as I pushed them in and they popped out, I realised how poor the build quality was. The dials move around an awful lot as if they are completely loose in their housing. Turning them to the function settings also showed they don't turn with ease or with any smoothness, or any satisfying 'click'. If you're hands are greasy they I promise you'll have to clean them before you try and turn the dial. They are also made of a very cheap plastic. The grade you find on all cheap Chinese knock-offs products. The dials themselves take some working out. You'll need to study the instructions with a great degree of concentration to work them out at first. There is still one symbol that I can't work out as it's not in the manual and the engineer who came out to look at the oven (I was convinced the dials were broken, that's how bad they are) didn't know either. It isn't self cleaning. Don't believe it when it claims the rear panel self cleans and reduces the food waste that splashed onto it to ash. It doesn't. It just stains the same as every other oven. The side and floor of the oven do clean reasonably easily with a non-abrasive cleaner and the grill pan cleans very easily too. But the grill is meant to be a closed door grill. However the issue with that is the build up of moister if you're cooking bacon for example. With the door closed it essentially steams the bacon which isn't nice. The build up of moister then collects at the base of the door and drips into the seal which then overflows and drips down the inside of the main fan oven door. The main oven has a number of shelf settings which are according to the manual, the ideal locations for cooking specific foods such as meats, cakes, pastries etc. The issue I have with this, is that if this is fan oven and specifically a '3D' fan oven which distributes the heat evenly across the entire area of the oven, then why do they suggest putting specific foods to cook in specific areas? It doesn't heat evenly at all. The top and back are hotter so bear that in mind. It's the same as every other oven. The touch screen display is OK. You''' get used to that but there is one major gripe I have. If you use the timer, just to alert you, then when you press the + button it leaps forward 10 minutes. If you just want 2 minutes then you press the - button and it goes back 10 seconds. So you hold it then it goes back quicker eventually going back 1 min at a time very quickly. So quickly that you will miss the 2 minutes point. So you press and hold the + button and it leaps forward and you miss the 2 minutes point again. By the time you get to the 2 minutes you've forgotten how long it took you to get there so you can't be sure how much of the 2 minutes you originally wanted has elapsed! It's incredibly frustrating to the point that I just don't use it and take out my phone instead. In conclusion, this is a very disappointing first foray into Bosch. (I do have a drill and they do those very well) I'm not going to invest in another one of their ovens when this one gives up.It does bake food, but no different to the cheapest one Amazon offers. 200c is still 200c if it's in a £200 oven or a £550 one.

Not a good double oven. Pricey.
We bought this built in oven as part of a fitted kitchen 2 years ago . Looks good and appears well put together but other than that could not recommend. Cooks unevenly for baking in the fan oven. For energy saving Bosch had reduced the size of the heating element and so temperature drops if bulky items added to hot oven and takes time to recover . Grill is poor not divided and no handle to rather bulky grill pan. No catalytic liners to oven. We had the Bosch service representative and said the element , fan and thermostat were all OK . I note another comment and we too miss our old Creda double oven which we had for 30 years. A Hotpoint double oven got a Which magazine Best buy. A poor oven for the price Avoid.
