Alesis Elevate 6 Single

I purchased my Alesis Elevate 6 active monitors after admiring a friends Alesis M1 620 monitors for a few years, having been blown away by the sound coming out of them for the price they cost. From what I can make out the Elevate 6 active monitors are the update to the 620’s.So what are they like? Well the build quality is excellent and you very much feel that you have purchased a quality product, which you have.Sound wise, and this is the big one, they are amazing for what you pay, and it’s as simple as that. I like to think I have a pretty refined ear, that has high expectations and knows what I want to hear, and these speakers have really brought my mixes to life, and I genuinely have no complaints. In fact they have surpassed my expectations.The bottom end/low frequency response is more than enough for me and I have at no point felt the need for a subwoofer. The Front facing base ports really do the trick and for any base head you will not be disappointed…you’ll hear what you want to hear. High end is clear and crisp and the midrange is not lacking either.To sum up if you’re looking for a good quality set of studio monitors and are on a budget, you genuinely can’t go wrong with this purchase and I see many years of use with these speakers until I decide to upgrade and then were in a whole different ball game and a bill running into thousands…but until then these will more than do the trick and may never be replaced.

Very good sound in my rather amateur home studio. I bought a pair of them a few weeks ago, but one of them randomly powers off every now and then. They haven't been used for long periods of time and don't appear to be overheating, and it's only one I have a problem with.I've contacted the seller to arrange a replacement and will increase to five stars if it works well.EDIT 11/SEP/15: The problematic speaker has been away for repair for a couple of weeks and returned doing exactly the same thing. The Alesis website mentions an automatic shut-off feature. I suspect it thinks it's not being used as all my tests today cut off at just about 59 minutes.I am disappointed. Hopefully the seller will be able to resolve this soon. Currently I can't recommend this speaker on build quality. If you can get a reliable one then the sound it produces is absolutely fine.

i have just recently upgraded my set up from the older version of these (the alesis mk2) I have had the alesis elevate6a and the alesis mk2 side by side at a friends house and couldn't notice much difference other than the look so this review is for both, First of all the for price of these monitors you get good value for money as they are very well made and offer a top sound , my alesis mk2s gave me 6 years of listening pleasure and worked well throughout no problems and they are still going strong i gave them to my brother and he now loves them too. The sound is class , the highs have plenty of detail and have a nice shine to them , the mids are great too , the bass has a really nice depth good punch and good control , the overall sound is top notch in this price range , i was surprised at how well they stud up to my new focal alpha 65s which are double the price ( but are worth it you simply get more depth punch and clarity) , so in conclusion if you are thinking of getting the alesis elevate6a GET THEM i doubt you will find anything better in the same price range
