Dreyfuss Mens Analogue Classic Automatic Watch with Leather Strap DGS00162/02

Dreyfuss are the ‘upmarket’ part of Rotary watches, which ultimately nowadays is owned in China. The importan5 thing is that these are not disposable far-eastern watches. The glass used is all sapphire glass (so to all intents and purposes is scratch proof), the mechanism is a well-respected Selitta as used in many more expensive Swiss watches, and enough of the watch is assembled in Switzerland for it to carry the ‘Swiss Made’ logo.It’s automatic with around a 40 hour power reserve, so once you’ve got it going, your wearing of it will likely as not keep it wound sufficiently.Timekeeping as delivered was good (it ran around 10 seconds a day fast). I adjusted it in about 5 minutes flat, and it’s now 2-3 seconds a day fast on the wrist, which puts it well in contention for Chronometer standard, if I were to test all the various positions- which I’m really not going to!)The rose gold is PVD which doesn’t really wear off so easily, the strap is leather, and the face measures around 40mm, which is about average for today (larger than the classics of yesteryear, but smaller than the silly sizes you see sometimes).Overall, a classy, well-made Swiss automatic watch with a good mechanism at an excellent price. What’s not to like?
