An Impressive and Unobstrussive Little Knife for EDC
I had wanted to add an Alox SAK to my collection and finally broke down and purchased the Bantam since it was the most affordable. I read and listened to a lot of reviews before buying it, and it is clear that many saw the benefits of this knife. It is incredibly thin and light (1 oz.) and makes a perfect EDC especially in an urban setting. The combo tool increases its EDC usefulness, but I will pair it with a Gerber Dime, a multi-tool equally small and light that adds a few things the Bantam omits like scissors and pliers. The two should provide all that I normally need. It is an attractive knife with the silver Alox scales and has appropriately been described as a 'gentleman's knife.' The blade comes in under 3 inches and is non-locking (as are most SAKs), so not only is it legal carry in Great Britain, but also in restrictive places like Illinois. A quality product worthy of anyone's collection.

Swiss Army has it figured out - it oozes of quality, it's so compact I store mine in the wallet.
Excellent quality and value. Using mine as a wallet multitool. It's so thin and lightweight you don't notice it in your wallet. Very happy with mine, no issues. Would buy again, highly recommended. Excellent EDC or survival kit compact tool. Built to last a lifetime. It has no keyring, keeping it totally streamlined. I like that. Has a medium sized blade, and a combo tool which does many things. Here are just some of the combo tool uses: scrapper, light duty pry tool, flat head and phillips drivers, box opener, can opener, bottle top opener, and wire stripper/ wire bender. Very practical tool, it's so compact that it's hard to believe, I would guess this has to be the thinest SAK that is currently being made, at least of the medium sized SAKs.... Everyone should have at least one, it's the definition of utility.

The Most Useful Size
The nicest small knife around. I like it far better than Case or Buck. Slimmer & sharper. Perfect to carry all the time. Doesn't scare anyone or raise eyebrows. My fav brand is Spyderco...but much more money.

Nothing wrong with an Alox Bantam!
I know there are a lot of folks who argue the Bantam is the best of the Victorinox SAKs, but that seems to be a superlative that is better determined by each individual based on the mission being addressed. What I think is irrefutable is the fact that the Alox Bantam is a delightful knife in just about any pocket. It's so slim; its engineering and assembly speak elegant utility in a way that calls the Bauhaus to mind. I've used one in C-Suite meetings and deep in the desert, and it was perfectly in place in both - as well as every place it's been needed in between. I bought this new one last night on a lark (delivered today - yay, Amazon!) for no reason other than I liked it so well and wanted another color (my first one is blue) - oh, and it was cheap! Everyone knows how great these are at slicing (owing to the superslim blades). The Bantam's five-in-one blade/tool turns out to be really solidly useful, too: I find myself using it all the time. And the Alox scales on a Bantam (while they mean no toothpick/tweezers or key ring) are durable (the plastic ones scratch so easily; no biggie but they don't carry the same pride of ownership) and are so aesthetically pleasing that it's difficult to describe: slim, grippy elegance; they'll have anyone fidgeting with the little pocket jewelry. Everyone knows the downsides of Victorinox knives: the steel isn't the most hardcore (which means it's easy to resharpen) and they're not the most durable. Okay, don't abuse them and keep them sharp, and they'll give you years of happy service - and show you to be a classy individual!

Old School Pocket Knife; Impressive "snap" When Opening
It's old school; no blade lock, but it opens to a hard *snap*, and stays open. Does not close without a good amount of pressure. It is thick as 2 quarters stacked up. Victorinox blade steel is sharp and sturdy. Disappears into my pocket, and doesn't turn sideways. I've tried 4 pocket clip knives of good quality and finally found this super light knife that is perfect for me. I am now a convert to the Victorinox family.

Perfection in a pocketable format.
Perfect for my purposes. Slips into my Viperade VE18-S pouch with ease and great retention. Victorinox always delivers great quality and dependability. The value, materials, and price point are a no brainer. Great gift for anyone needing an edc blade.

Great knife! But I lost it in a week...
This is a great knife! After a long time of getting frustrated with bulky knives, I realised that the most frequent tools I needed were only the blade and the bottle opener. So I got this and for a whole week it was extremely useful and I took it everywhere. I did notice that the bottle opener wasn't quite perfectly lined up to close and so was rubbing against the edge each time it closed. It didn't bother me that much, although I think with time it would have left a worn out mark on the silver alox finish. I kept it in my pocket and it was so light and slim that I often forgot I had it. Anyway, I guess it must have slipped out because I got home and it wasn't anywhere. I checked everywhere for it, but no luck finding it so far! I'll have to order another but I just wish it had a little ring to attach a keychain, paracord or something through so I wouldn't lose it as easily. So for the slightly off alignment of the bottle opener, and the lack of the keyring thingy that most other Victorinox Swiss Army knives do have, I'd give it 4 stars. I'm still going to buy another, I'll just have to figure out how not to lose this one, and hopefully my lost one turns up too so I have a backup!
