Leagues above ISP combo router!
This works perfectly! Super easy to install and setup. Great features and options out of the box including led controls. A good size for such good coverage. The 2.5Gbps ports are a great plus for adding to the LAN. Didn't miss a beat when adding all the devices back.

Great for Spectrum 200mbps plan!
Update: It is now April 21, 2020 and we've been using the router for 2 months. It is still working perfectly for us and we have zero complaints. I highly recommend it! We moved to the middle of nowhere about 7 years ago and it never occurred to us to check who provided TV/internet/phone at the new house before buying. We found out after buying the house that the only providers were satellite companies. We realized very quickly that first year that satellite sucks, the internet specifically. We got locked into a $75 a month plan with HughesNet for a year and never once were able to actually use the internet that whole year. It was really frustrating. We simply did not have home internet for the past 6 years due to a lack of a decent provider. This past week Spectrum finally moved their service to our road. We immediately signed up. I knew I wasn't paying them $5 a month to rent a router from them but I also wasn't sure at all how to pick out a router myself. I've always been pretty tech savvy but when you lose access(and a need) to those things you stop keeping up with them, I was seriously behind on all the new updates that have been made over the last several years. I knew I didn't want to spend more than $50 on a router and after doing some research I finally decided on this TP-Link AC1200 and basically just hoped for the best. Some of the reviews weren't great so I was nervous. It arrived a day after our internet was installed so I set it up by myself. It took me all of 20 mins from unboxing to the whole house having Wi-Fi, it was VERY easy. I love that it has it's own app, a very convenient feature. We live in a 2000sq. ft., one floor, manufactured home. These homes have pretty thin walls so the signal reaches from one end to the other very easily. We are also extremely heavy on our data usage in this family and while it's only been a couple of days now it has had zero trouble keeping up with us. We've had zero buffering while streaming & using our phones, everything has been working very quickly. We have several smart TVs, cell phones, a laptop, a printer & a PS4 connected to it at the moment. The technician from Spectrum who installed our internet also said this was a good option for our 200mbps plan. I hope this helps someone make up their mind on whether this router will be a good choice for them. I will update the review if anything changes but as of now this seems to have been a pretty solid purchase and I'm happy with it.

Easy setup
This was the fastest router I've ever set up. I've also had no issues with the app.

Best router for a good price!?
Bought this to replace my nighthawk. The app and setup is easy, connects all my devices well. Great quality all around, I’m definitely a huge fan of this router and its speeds.

THE Travel Router
I recently picked up the TP-Link BE3600 Travel Router and I couldn’t be happier with it—definitely a 5-star product! It’s been amazing to have a secure connection everywhere I travel, giving me peace of mind whether I’m in a hotel, Airbnb, or airport lounge. The setup is super simple, and managing it through the Tether app makes everything a breeze. One of my favorite features is having a network-side VPN when traveling. It’s great not having to configure each device individually, since everything connected to the router is automatically protected. Plus, I love that my family and I can connect all our devices without having to log each one into hotel Wi-Fi separately—our network stays the same wherever we go. If you’re looking for a reliable, secure, and easy-to-manage travel router, the TP-Link BE3600 is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

Good Value for Wifi7 (sortof)
Wifi 7 sortof... not a 3 band but 2 band router. It is very fast compared to the AX1800 I replaced. My last 3 setups have been TP Link products and always have had good value/performance with them. The only disappointment is to use the upgraded security features requires a subscription now. I won't be doing that as I am using basic router security and always on a VPN whether home or away. This is a very good value if you want to insure being up to standard protocol for some time to come. My home is a ranch 1800' and the reach upstairs and downstairs is strong. The router has performed flawlessly since being installed.

AWESOME!!!
Been using this for the last 6 months and I have not needed to reboot it once. 4 laptops, 3 TV's, and 4 cells. No problem and this Gig capable.

wifi 7 routers are more finicky than a 6/6e…this one sure was if using Smart features…read more!
UPDATE 11/23/25: I successfully found my solution to where Smart Connect totally failed to allow WPA 2 and 3 in mixed mode and none of my WPA2 devices would connect nor could I use WPA3 in mixed WPA2/WPA3 mode at all, zero connection to WAN. I turned off the Smart Connect, kept the same Network name for my primary 5Ghz devices connecting with WPA3 personal only, and created a separate WPA2 only new network for the 2.4GHz band. All of the newer WPA3/5GHz devices were able to connect and the older devices that were only capable of 2.4GHz and WPA2 or lower protocol, also were able to connect perfectly on the 2.4GHz network. Given your network and LAN access (contain) both Networks, the router allows access to both seamlessly. My several security cameras on the 2.4GHz/WPA2 network are accessible from my other 5GHz network so basically all devices now are contained in the same LAN, although connected to one or the other network only. Perfect! As said, the smart features of this router stink, and while they may work for some users, there’s many people out there that had to go fully manual for Network and Band setup as I did. (read some forums out there!). So net is, this router is fully usable, but, do not trust its smart features to work well. I’m hoping a future firmware update makes this new router work as well as my old wifi6 AX55 router did in full Smart/auto mode. for now, do what I did if you are experiencing internet connections issues and/or related new/old device issues. ———————————————————————————————————- I’ve used a TP-Link AX55/3000 model here for a year with a cable model, and then, after switching to FIOS and an ONT (not a modem) this router continued to not miss a beat. 100% stable connections and speeds. We had a recent issue where our FIOS service got unstable and I ordered the BE3600 with an assumption it was a router issue. We lost internet for a week. The issue was not router related. Our ISP tech found two faulty connections in our FIOS wiring and once repaired, we were back at full speed. I tried to keep the BE3600 in operation since it was set up, but, keep loosing internet connection when using a wpa2/wpa3 combo which we need for a mix of old and new devices. Our old wifi6 TP-Link worked fine in this mode, but, the BE3600 refused to stay connected if we chose a wifi security protocol for both wpa2 and wpa3. Only WPA3 seemed to stay connected. But, doing that, we lost connections to several old wpa2 only devices. Yes, we can create a unique wpa2 and wpa 3 network using different names and passwords, but, the whole benefit of this “smart” technology and features for these TP-Link routers is to be able to allow them to handle all “traffic” and required frequencies and security wifi protocols to connect using their SMART features, to both older and newer (wpa2 and/or wpa3) devices. This wifi7 router fails miserably at using its SMART technology to communicate to both older/wpa2 and newer wpa3 devices. Simply put, the SMART connect feature is useless. I ended up reinstalling my old wifi6 AX55 TP-Link router and everything was restored for compatibility. Zero issues for using both wpa2 and wpa3 protocols at the same time. We’ll keep the BE3600 as an emergency backup, but, if you have few, if any wifi 7 devices able to use the wifi 7 protocol, stick with a wifi6 router. Keeping it simpler works better!
