Many of us are have a multitude of small objects that never seem to have a home of their own when not in use. The new range of Vitriini boxes offers an excellent solution not merely for storing these orphans but showcasing them as well. The boxes were created by glass designer Anu Penttinen, who has made a name for herself as an artist with a knack for color. They're so handsome they give new meaning to the term "jewel box". Being modular means additional colors can be added at any time. You can also swap pieces from boxes of the same size if you're after a mottled look. In discussing her work Penttinen underlines the modular character of the range, which was one the key properties she wanted to build in from the start: "Collecting and combining different pieces from the range," she says, "lets people create their own personal take on the design, ranging from the wild and colorful, to the romantic or the cool and refined."
