excellent for the price
works perfectly- was a little stiff but wore in quickly, works well with all my games. WORKS ON BATTLEFIELD 3 (to use correctly uninstall/ unplug all other game controllers before playing as battlefield 3 has a bug when im writing this of only using one game controller at once also use bf3settings which is freeware to keybind it to get round another battlefield 3 bug of not binding the throttle correctly). very impressed with the software for this as any button or movement can be made to do anything (keyboard, mouse or macro containing the 2), compared to the cyborg fly5 which is £50 in pc world great value- its basically the same but for a few less buttons and the throttle being at the back rather than the side. highly recommend the product and the product for use with battlefield 3 as greatly improves controllability for aircraft over mouse/keyboard control.

Excellent value-for-money feature-packed joystick
I would like to begin by saying that I am not sure if joysticks in general are recommended for use in patients with RSI or carpal tunnel syndrome. I am sure however that they are designed for use in space flight and air flight simulator games, and in this respect this joystick excels.Briefly, this Saitek Cyborg V1 has 7 buttons, an 8-way point of view hat, a throttle lever and a 'twist' rudder (twist the stick to turn the rudder) in addition to the usual x- and y-axes. On paper therefore this is an excellent joystick, incorporating every feature I could think of.How is the performance in games? I have tested this in Wing Commander Prophecy, Wing Commander Secret Ops and Freespace 2. In all three games I have experienced no problems. (Only one minor complaint in WC Secret Ops: for some reason, if I invert the rudder in the game to change the behaviour to what I expect, it does not remember the setting.) I especially appreciated the twist rudder, which allows me to roll while banking/pitching -- useful for 'evasive' manoeuvres. The feel of the joystick is good; it is easy to move, and auto-centres.In the past I have used very cheap joysticks: e.g. 2-axis 2-button joysticks. These suffered from some major problems: even at rest, the joystick signal 'trembles', so it was difficult to fly in straight lines when using them. They would have good gradation of movement in one direction (e.g. left) but if moved in the opposite direction (e.g. right) the movement would be maximum, so making them difficult to aim with. Finally, the auto-centre mechanism would break. These problems would manifest themselves after 6-months to a year's worth of (admittedly heavy) playing. So far I have encountered none of the above problems. I have been using the joystick moderately for about 3 months, so I cannot give information about long-term durability. The joystick has excellent compatibility. It connects via a USB port. I have tested in in Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP1 and Kubuntu Linux 10.04. They all immediately recognise the joystick. The only minor quibbles I have with this joystick are: there is a blue LED light where the trigger button is; this might annoy you in a dark room as it illuminates what's behind your monitor. Also, it has a wide base which requires (very simple) assembly, but cannot be easily disassembled. Therefore, it takes a moderately large amount of area on your desk (about a square of side-length 24cm) and is not easy to transport long distances (e.g. by car).In summary, this is a very capable joystick, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to any occasional or moderate gamer -- especially given the phenomenal value for money (at time of writing this cost just £20)!

A well put together budget joystick.
Normally, I do not use joysticks, yet, a certain game has forced me to buy one, just for the sake of enjoyment and interactivity with the game itself. This joystick, I must admit, as a first time user using such devices. Is wonderful to use. Comfortable in the hand, easy to access all main buttons which are needed, or, on show. Easy to move and navigate the joystick when playing games, without any input lag.Yet, I must admit, there are some flaws which do put me off now and again. The thrust control is somewhat hard to access, being at the very back, can cause some issues in intense situations in game. The device likes to lift up from any surface, so, you would need to get some suction cups, or, something to hold the device down whilst using it.other than that, for a cheap and affordable joystick, I would not have gone anywhere else.

Cheap stick, but performs very well indeed.
I've had this for a couple of months now and have been using it a fair bit for playing Elite Dangerous. At first I found it quite stiff and creaky but, once it had settled in (and I had got used to it), it's been fine. Responses have been good and consistent, and I haven't needed to recalibrate it yet, nor have I experienced any directional 'creep' when the stick is in a neutral position. For such a cheap stick, that came as a welcome surprise!I've also taped over the stupid blue LED that shines onto the screen but that's a minor niggle and not, in my opinion, worth knocking a star off for.

Firstly i'd like to say that i bought this because it was cheap. I did not expect perfection. Now to business...Cons:- Light and flimsy. Doesn't feel good to the touch.- Cheap gamer appearance. Designed to look like a modern gamer's controller. Would have been better if it had a simple design.- The non-slip pads to stop it from moving around on your table are loose and will eventually need to be glued back on.- Badly placed button on the stick itself. I have slightly larger hands than a standard adult. I can fit 1 finger on the trigger and 1 on the stick. if i use either of my remaining fingers to steady my grip which is a requirement then i am constantly pressing that 7th function button.- Dim blue light on the top of the stick which faces forward (away from you) shining on to your screen.- USB cable is a little too short, about 1 meter.- The ridiculous grey support (in front of the stick) is required. Whilst it can be removed for easier storage the stick isn't sturdy without it. NOTE: there are 2 red locks/clamps which are used to lock the support on which are small and can fall off. keep an eye on them.- Does not come with drivers but windows 7 installs it well enough without.Pros:- Cheap and does the job.Summary: If you are a serious flight simulator player spend more money and get a better one but it is good for casual play.

Bang for your buck!!
For the price, this stick is amazing. Wasn't sure I wanted to jump back into space Sims with both feet, so I bought this guy to hold me over. It is very responsive and comfortable to use. It works well with OSX.

Best start up Flight Stick than a Thrustmaster stick
Since it's a start up flight stick nd low cost one I didn't expect lasting longer..but I been using for almost 9 months without problems. So I can say it's a very good product.. Using with FSX it works really good. Playing in Windows 8.1.At first use the stick was little hard and tough cos of new spring..but now after 9 months of usage it's pretty smooth but there is a little looseness but nothing affects flight simulation experience... Using with PMDG FSX addons..The throttle control feels a bit less quality but so far no problems and working nearly perfect..Twist Rudder control also working fine..Altogether I think it Wil work good for another year. A very nice start up flight stick..

Great Positioning for Error-Free Typing
At first the keys on this were stiff as that of a concert quality piano. But it seems they get a little looser as you use them, though still have a nice firm feedback. I have bought a dozen keyboards this past year. Logitech keyboards often do something really stupid, like require you to install Setpoint in order to know whether or not your caplocks key is on! Or they make tiny backspace or enter or left shift keys to what end? Microsoft keyboards are usually very comfortable but the keys come loose to easily (I have a monkey who "harvests" them). Forget about Rosewill as they are cheaply made NE garbage and no effort is put into making them comfortable to work with. Gearhead makes some very nice feeling keyboards but they often have the power/sleep buttons in REALLY bad places, such as the over the arrow keys which is bad especially if you are a gamer. Speaking of which, Amazon pictures of the Saitek Keyboard show what I assume is the European layout (" key over the 2 and the @ sign where the " goes), not the US version. This is the US verson of the Keyboard. In fact, the box it came in displays the wrong version!!!This keyboard does let you program macros. Now I prefer dedicated keys for macros whereas this board makes you use the Function Keys to run them, which takes away a LOT of uses already programmed into games. I have games that utilize every key on the function row, so that can be a conflict should I want to use macros. As for media keys, you have the volume control and that's it. But many players (GOM is my favorite) let you use the space and arrow keys to pause and rewind/fast forward, etc. Same goes for web browsing. If you want a calculator button or a button to open your web brower you can always program a Function key to do that. Other words, the keyboard is very versatile. The wrist wrest seems just the right size though I use the keyboard on my lap so have no use for it. The cord is plenty long. I am sitting 4 feet from where it plugs in and there's still plenty of slack.Regarding Amazon, this is one of only a few orders with Amazon that shipped quickly, albeit one day late, in the last year. The tracking is completely useless as USPS doesn't give updates like UPS does. FedEx doesn't seem to fare much better. According to the tracking the order still had a long ways to go, but was in reality really close to being delivered. I've used 2 day and 1 day shipping with almost every order this past year and I've only seen a couple 2 day packages arrive in 2 days. One overnight package came a day late; in fact, the tracking said I'd have to wait till after the weekend, which turned out to be wrong.Amazon Prime is a joke as they DO NOT ship according to their stated arrival date. One order was supposed to arrive on Tue but ended up arriving Thursday. Orders I placed Mon were later altered to look like I placed them on Tue or Wed so that the stated arrival date was suddenly 2 days later than they originally stated in BOLD black lettering, as if to cover their backsides. Oh, wait, they do it in the form of a question!"Want it delivered......? Order it in blah blah and choose blah blah..." Sometimes they do this "unnecessarily" and the package actually IS on schedule, but when I look at the tracking sometimes it looks like the package hasn't even left town! We won't be using Prime next year unless they stop this behavior.
