Convatec 183910 Stomahesive Paste: 2 Ounce (Pack of 3)

I've been using Convatec's Stomahesive Paste for over 45 years for my ileostomy. It is an excellent paste, but as reviewers have noted, many times it's hard to get out of the tube after the tube has been opened and used at least once.For those of you who have not tried the following, try this method: Sometimes it dries to a solid piece at the opening of the tube from the previous time it was used. In that case, take a scissor or something small and you can easily dig out the dry piece. Then, close the cap and put the tube under the hottest water from your sink for about one minute or so. Sometimes I flip the tube over, so the hot water gets both sides, but you don't have to. After a minute or so, the paste comes out very easily with no effort. This does not effect the integrity of the paste at all. After you put it on your wafer(whatever brand you use), it willbe the same consistency as it would be coming out of a new unopened tube.Before you throw away your older tubes of this paste thinking they are dried out, try the hot water first. I've done this on 2+ year old tubes, and it softens just as easily as a new tube. At $8-10 per 2 oz tube, no need to throw them away when there's an easy solution using hot water.I've been doing this method for many years, and it has worked 100% of the time.I rarely if ever write a review, but felt the need to do so in this case to give some advise to whomever might find it helpful. I was using another brand that required adhesive both on the skin and the flange. Just put this product on the flange and give it a few seconds before applying. Long lasting and trustworthy

The paste holds well. Very few leakage.

Purchase for my MIL who is a long time ostomate, this paste is the only one that works for her, without insurance ostomy supplies can get pricey, this one is priced more affordable on here than from other sites. Paste insurers that ostomy appliance stays put longer, does not itch burn or sting, does not pull off skin

So, I have had an ostomy since the end of December 2018. I have tried everything ever suggested to prevent "breeches" of my pouching system.I had been using another brand of stoma paste, but it was messy to apply and even messier to remove. As luck would have it, my insurance didn't cover enough to get me through all of my pouch changes in a month (because I had to use a lot each time to prevent leaks / breeches).I was looking for something to hold me over until I got my next shipment from my ostomy supply company. I remembered that the hospital had convatec stomahesive, so when I saw the price, I HAD to get it.It works so much better than my old adhesive. It also comes off 100x easier and with much less residue.I can't speak highly enough about this product.

I have been using this particular product for 5 years now for my ostomy. I have never had a tube split open before. This stuff isn’t inexpensive and unfortunately insurance does not cover this. So out of pocket after 5 years is a lot. I bought a 3 pack and have one left. The first tube was fine.
