The world’s most mobile keyboard Light. Mobile. Versatile. The Twiddler is so comfortable to hold and easy to use, you’ll almost forget it’s there. The contoured, sleek modern design doesn’t just look good, it was built for your hand, putting all the functions of keyboard and mouse within the normal range of motion of your fingers and thumb. It is the worlds best one handed keyboard. The Twiddler was designed by San Francisco’s Kicker Studio, a world-renowned collective of designers, researchers, scientists and artists that specialize in NUI, or “Natural User Interface.” Maximum Convenience and Customization Kicker designed the user interface for ease of use, while the hardware inside maximizes convenience and customization. It incorporates a keyboard that is radically unique - an ergonomic keypad designed for "chord" keying, where you press one or more keys at a time like playing a piano. With 12 finger keys and 4 thumb keys, the Twiddler easily emulates the 101 keys of a standard keyboard... plus many more. It also includes a “NavStick” or multifunction mouse controller that moves your on screen cursor. Its Bluetooth capability allows you to pair the Twiddler with all of your devices including gadgets like iPad, any smartphone and any wearable like the Google Glass and the Samsung Gear. Designed for Your Hand We subject our hands to abuse all day. Gripping, texting, keyboarding, and just every day life puts a lot of stress into our hands making them stiff, tense and tight. . The Twiddler was designed for maximum comfort. The Twiddler’s compact size allows you to rest your hands where you like and text in the most comfortable positions. The compact design minimizes hand movement and strain on the wrists, while promoting the use of finger movement. Studies have found many people suffering from arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome find the Twiddler much easier to use than traditional keyboards.

Best keyboard ever
This keyboard is great! Only had this keyboard for about a week and I'm already typing at 25+ wpm. I have a bunch of programming macros setup using their 'tuner' and program using it daily. Love it so far. Only nitpick I have is the joystick/mouse could be a little better, like a nintendo switch style joystick or similar would be nice. Two thumbs way up.

The best version of a 60 year old invention
Some reasons to consider a chorded keyboard:- You want a way to take notes without looking at a screen or paper.- You are impaired in one hand- You need one hand on a mouse or somewhere else, but also need to type or just hit special keys. Think drawing software, 3D design software, or presenting. Modern "WASD" gaming has been proposed, but I'm not sure about it.- You cannot or do not want to maintain your physical position above a keyboard for very long, due to impairment or impatience.- You travel or move around a lot and finding a place to put down a keyboard to type on is difficult.Chorded keyboards were first demoed in the same moment the first "full" computer keyboard and mouse were, by Douglas Engelbart in 1968. A fascinating watch here, "The Mother of All Demos": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJDv-zdhzMYChorded keyboards' lack of publicity is probably due to only one thing: they have a much longer learning curve. This is an unavoidable fact of the technology, and cannot be said as a negative about any particular device. You're going to spend time with this thing, and I suggest scheduling time every day to practice until you feel competent.Tek Gear has built a typing tutor app on their website which makes it easy to get up to speed, with a on-screen visual reference of the twiddler (because while you use the twiddler properly, they keys are facing away from you). That said, any of your favorite typing games will work if you don't need the visual.Another fact, more physiological, is that you're not going to get the same typing speed as a "full" keyboard. Many/most people, with a few months practice, can get around half their normal typing speed on these things. Don't worry though, that's not why you're buying this.Tek Gear has gone above and beyond in every respect. This is a classy, high quality device worthy of its price tag. Especially considering there are no other producers of anything with Twiddler's features, Tek Gear could have found a market for a lower quality, or a higher price. They didn't. They did it right. It shows all over. I wouldn't mind using this while walking around an office wearing a suit. You can use this at your desktop via bluetooth or plugged into USB just like other keyboards. You can use it with your phone via bluetooth. This was why I bought the device in the first place: I have wrist pain from typing. Since it is attached to my hand during use, I can hold my hand at any position that feels comfortable and type consistently. The way the hand wraps around the device is totally natural and does not elicit pain, though some soreness is normal at the beginning since it's not your normal typing experience. It also has a "headless" mode, where you can take notes saved to the device's file drive and recover them later, without connecting it to any phone or computer. Recently, I use this going on "covid sanity walks," recording my thoughts while keeping my eyes on the road/nature. The device fits comfortably in my jacket pocket while typing. You can switch the layout of all the keys, and even create your own. It's very simple to switch, just dragging a file into the device's file drive. Tek Gear has created a website where you can create your own layouts using an easy-to-use interface. The layouts are saved as files which makes them easy to save and to share. There's a devoted community that often chats on forums on Tek Gear's website about tips, tricks, and ideas. Tek Gear personnel engage there as well, sometimes throwing out ideas to the community for improvements.Overall, if you want to try a chorded keyboard or have a real need for one, you cannot go wrong with this device.

The only real choice for single-handed keyboards.
I've been using this exact model since 2016.i'll be upfront with the bad news. This is not easy to learn. It took me at least a month to have basic fluency typing with this thing, and took me even longer to actually get up to reasonable speed. You have to be dedicated to it, and spend some real time with it.The good news is, this thing is *absolutely incredible* There are literally no other keyboards with this combination of portability and capability. I regularly keep this unit in my jacket pocket, where it is fully usable with my Android smartphone. I can type at least as quickly as anyone else, and with no typos, despite never using spell or typo correction. I can even remote login to my desktop machines and use them almost as effectively as sitting down, no matter where I am, even without an actual desk or even a seat on the train. This device includes mouse functionality through an 8-way joystick on the top, so you really get full desktop functionality. This is also customizable, and there is a community of people who maintain their own layouts to make this device even more ergonomic and usable. I personally have used Backspice2 for this whole time, and currently type at about 40-50 WPM on this device.i would expect this thing to be an absolute lifesaver for anyone who only had use of one hand, or just absolutely hates using touchscreen keyboards as I do. If you are in either of those categories, get this device immediately and start learning it. Your later self will love you.
