Much better than expected
Worked great to close 1" long, bone deep cut on shin. Used two of them, & had room to apply ointments after removing QuikClt gauze. Scar is almost invisible after 8 weeks.

Came in Handy!
As a parent of four young children, I purchased these at the outbreak of COVID-19 knowing that going to the ER/urgent care may not be a great option. Lo-and-behold, two weeks later my 4 year old got a nasty gash on the back of his head. It was borderline stitches territory, but my wife and I cleaned it up with some peroxide and made sure he didn't have any other symptoms of concussion or fracture and then decided to use the butterfly bandages. It took only one to pull together the centimeter-long cut. I carefully shaved his head in the area so the bandages would stick, but they still struggled a bit, so we used some medical tape at the ends to keep it in place and checked it regularly to make sure it wasn't slipping and replaced it once or twice a day depending on how well it was holding. I don't think that would be an issue for cuts anywhere else on the body. We used some prescription-strength topical antibiotic ointment that we had on hand from another situation and I applied a bandaid to cover the injury. So far the cut has stayed together quite well and there is no sign of infection, and this is day three. There might be a scar, but stitches usually leave nasty scars anyway. I'm really glad we had these on hand! They saved us hours of waiting in the ER and risk of exposure to COVID-19 and they work.

Cost effective, larger size, sterile & large quantity
These are larger butterfly bandages. They’re approx. 2X’s size of the typical butterfly bandage you might be more familiar wIth. Each one is individually wrapped & sterile until you open & use. Shipment arrived quickly & it was packed fine. I kinda wish I didn’t order this one in particular mainly because there’s so many in there! I can’t remember if it was 100 or what. I know it’s in the description & they were all in there as described, but for me personally it was way to many since I only bought them to help my surgical incision close nicely where I had to have stitches & a penrose drain in my neck after neck dissection surgery. Unfortunately these really didn’t help w/ my needs because I had a lot of drainage (Infection was draining out) and these do not stick very well when you have any kind of moisture/drainage. *** Also, it’s not recommended to use these on infected wound because it Just traps the bacteria inside. After my incision stopped draining & was no longer infected, I put a little Neosporin on there and decided to give these butterflies another go since I still wasn’t happy w/my incision(appeared wider towards end where drain had been) unfortunately they still didn’t adhere well (probably b/c the Neosporin) I reinforced them w/ a larger bandage so they would stay put. I did this for several days. It’s hard to tell if it helped that much b/c I was also using steri strips at the time. Overall I’m glad I bought these b/c I think they will work ok w/ smaller (non-gaping) clean abrasions. Also, I’m a school nurse (On a very limited income) so it helps a ton to find stuff that doesn’t cost much that I can use at my school clinic. We have very limited resources & basically no funds. Schools are broke & they definitely don’t provide us w/ stuff like this. I often have to use my own money for supplies & I have 2 schools & take care of approx. 1600 kids not to mention staff every day, so as you could imagine finding Cheap/discounted supplies is very important to me!

I needed to use a couple of these right after I purchased them...
I needed to use a couple of these right after I purchased them for my first aid kit. Wife cut off the better part of a fingertip, we were camping, at least an hour from a medical facility. So I sutured her up. A short month later she's right as rain, the finger looks fully healed. This is an essential for your first aid kit!Essentially, these do the work of sutures (stitches) without needing to penetrate the skin multiple times like with stitches. People who wouldn't have the slightest idea how to tie a stitch can apply a butterfly suture, my Mom used them on me more than once when I was young.Always follow up with a medical professional! And, do not use butterfly sutures on a puncture wound or animal bite.

Great value
I worked as an ER physician for 35 years and used many types of steri-strips, with and without Benzoin skin adhesive. These strips are durable and adhere well. Obviously the area should be clean and as dry as possible. Ointments are great for wound healing and minimizing scars, but they cannot be used prior to placing any strips. Putting ointments on after placing strips will shorten the life of the strips. If a wound keeps on bleeding and strips cannot hold the wound easily then you will most likely need more secure wound closure such as sutures or staples. I was surprised at the quality of these strips for them to sell for 5 cents each. I highly recommend a box of these for every home or first aid kit.
