>> DOES THE JOB
IN SHORT – I’ve owned perhaps 20 mp3 players over the past 20 years of at least 10 brands and models. The Walkercam and the AGPtEK U3 are the best compact mp3 players currently available.> The Walkercam is the best choice if you want a compact mp3 player with a built-in non-removable rechargeable battery.> The AGPtEK U3 is the best choice if you want a compact mp3 player which takes replaceable AAA batteries.PROS of both the Walkercam and the AGPtEK U3> On both, files transfer quickly from your computer.> Both power-up quickly.> Both play most audio formats. That's great for me since I still have many audiobooks that I ripped to wma format.> Both also functions as an FM radio and as a recorder – but I have not tried those functions.> If you turn either off-and-on, it resumes where you stopped – so either is great for audiobooks.> With either, if you may load folders containing subfolders, and the tracks will play in the correct order (that is, in the alphanumeric order the subfolders are in the folder). So, you can load multi-folder audiobooks or several audiobooks, or group your (sub-) folders of music into folders.> Both have the ability to use 32G micro-SD cards (purchased separately) is useful. The players will accept smaller capacity micro-SD cards (e.g., 8G or 16G). With a 32G micro-SD, you have a total of 40G storage, but not additively – that is, the storage is nominally divided into two different "drives" or "discs".> The buttons of both are flat enough and stiff enough that you can't push a button by accident.CONS of both the Walkercam and the AGPtEK U3>>> The default operation of both is annoying. Caveat the default operating logic of the Walkercam is a little less obstinate and frustrating than that of the AGPtEK U3.> If you press the < button, the player does NOT go to the beginning of the current track. Instead it goes to the beginning of the previous track.> On both, you have to “awake” the display before you can turn them on or off, fast-forward or “rewind”, or change the volume, or access the menu, etc. That means, for example, that (if the player is “off”) it takes 3 clicks of the “play” button of the Walkercam to simply get it to play. Worse, the number of necessary clicks varies depending on whether the player is on or off, is on pause or not, and whether the display is “alive” or not – so, you cannot operate either player by touch.> On either, if you switch between "local" and "card" memory you loose your place (bookmark). For example, if I'm listening to my audiobook (in local memory), and pause to listen to music (in my card memory), when I go back to my audiobook, it will resume at the very beginning of the book.> On neither is there a way to attach a lanyard, or a carabineer, etc.> On either, the micro-SD card can "spring" out of the slot and get lost if you drop the player. So, it is a good idea to place a small piece of tape over the micro-SD slot (and card) – even if the slot is empty (to keep the contacts clean).BUILT-IN OR REPLACEABLE BATTERIES?> Personally, I prefer AAA-battery-powered mp3 players. Using such a player, I never have to search for a USB outlet and wait for a player to charge. With a smart-charger, I can simply leave rechargeable AAA batteries in the charger all the time (without worrying about overcharging), and just replace an empty battery with a full one when I need it. I often take an extra charged AAA battery with me when I’m going hiking etc., and will be far away from a USB outlet for a long time.> On the other hand, if you are already in the habit of charging your phone (or other device) every night, remembering to also recharge your mp3 player is easy. With efficient earbuds and moderate volume, the Walkercam can play all day long on a single charge.PROS of the Walkercam compared to the AGPtEK U3> The Walkercam has a larger on/off/play/pause button on the Walkercam. Unlike the AGPtEK U3, it is possible for individuals with larger-than-child-size fingers to operated the Walkercam. Unfortunately the smaller <, >, menu, and volume buttons of the Walkercam can only be operated with a fingernail. However, it is impossible to operate either player at all wearing gloves.> The Walkercam is about ½ as thick as the AGPtEK U3, but still considerably larger than a Zen Nano (which ran on an AAA battery). I wish somebody would bring back the Zen Nano.> The Walkercam claims to fully recharge in less than 4 hours, but in fact, a 20 minute charge gives you enough juice for hours of play.> I’ve observed weird things to happen with the AGPtEK U3 – specifically, the operating logic changes from time to time. It is as though the chip contains several alternate programed instruction sets, any of which can be “selected” by random glitches. I have not used the Walkercam long enough to know whether the same behavior applies to the Walkercam.> The DEFAULT operating logic of the Walkercam is slightly less annoying than that of the AGPtEK U3. As just one specific example, the default operation of the volume AGPtEK U3 is that you can only increase the volume one-step-at-a-time by pressing the > button one click-at-a-time (you can’t hold the > button to increase the volume several steps), but you can only decrease the volume multiple steps by pressing and holding the < button (you can’t “click” the < to lower the volume just one step). On the Walkercam, you can increase or decrease one or multiple steps by pressing or holding either the < button or the > button.CONS of the Walkercam compared to the AGPtEK U3> The Walkercam has a stupid “random/repeat” switch, which you can accidentally turn on and ruin your whole day trying to figure out what is wrong with your MP3 player. It is much too easy to move the switch to “random” by accident. On either player, you can choose “continuous” or “random” play via the menu.NAVIGATION between the internal and micro-SD card memory (only applies if you have a micro-SD card installed)> If you plug the player into your computer, the internal memory and micro-SD card memory (if installed) appear as 2 different "drives" (for example, "Removable Disc (B:)" and "Removable Disc (C:)". In this hypothetical case, "B:" would be the micro-SD card, and "C:" would be the internal 8G of memory. In Windows, "autoplay" will open as usual asking you if you want to "open folder to view files" (and other options), twice (one for each of the "discs"), one window covering the other identical window. You can drag the top autoplay window over so that you can see both.> You can "drag and drop" music, etc. into either of the nominal "disc".> In "music" mode you can press "M" (menu) and then select either "local" (the internal memory), or "card" (the micro-SD card memory – if installed). After selecting "local" or "card" you can select individual folders. After selecting a folder, you can select individual tracks.> Unfortunately, you can only navigate among the lowest level of folders.> Click on “Stoney” just below the product title to see my other reviews

Major Problems
I've had many MP3 players and smart phones over the years and this is by far the worst.Four major problems:1. I loaded, from my PC, three audiobooks in MP3 format, all by the same author. I went into the Music tab of the M7 and found only one book title. I looked into the files and found all three books under one of the book titles. I tried the same with two music albums by the same artist and again all songs were grouped under one album.2. In addition to grouping all the tracks under one title, the order of play was as follows: book1 track1, book2 track1, book3 track1, and so on.3. When I loaded a single book or album order of play of the tracks was also mixed up: track1, track10, track2, track11, track3 thru track9. When there is 20 or more tracks they were mixed up even more. This would not be that big a problem for a music album; it would be like playing the album in shuffle mode. However, this is a big problem for an audiobook.4. The M7 would not pair with my JVC Bluetooth (v4.2) earbuds. The earbuds pair easily with all of my other devices. My other MP3 players always grouped the albums and audiobooks in the correct manner using the ID3 tag imbedded in each file. For those unfamiliar with the ID3 tag, I recommend you look it up.Using the email address included with the paperwork, I emailed the manufacturer and asked if there was a fix for these problems. It has been over a week and I’ve gotten no response from them.I am returning this and warn everyone to the problems I’ve described.

Jumpy files
With this particular one it wouldn’t stay on the music files it kept flipping back-and-forth from Settings to Music to recording supposed to once you program it and you go to your music mix should stay on that then when you close it out and open it up it goes right back to the music but this one didn’t do it it’s a good product sometimes you get a bad one

its meh...
i use this for something to listen to while im at work. i work meat dept at a grocery store. the store plays what i absolutely cant stand and me being the metalhead that i am, i die on the inside any time i had to heard the terrible stuff playing in the store...the good: sounds really good for the price. i was expecting poor sound quality at this price range, but was happily surprised. i put it onto rock eq preset and im seriously impressed.... its fairly easy to use and the low cost makes it so that buying several of these, just in case, can be a good thing and wont make your wallet cry too badly.the bad: well, the one i received has its own little quirks... the one i find the most annoying is that any time i dont push the forward/skip button exactly perfectly, it goes back a track instead of forward a track. same happens when i am in volume menu since its using the same "left/right" button(s) and sometimes takes a while to get up to the volume i would like... the back button works just fine though.... the second thing is that if i dont push the play/pause button exactly correctly, it plays for a blink of an eye and pauses itself. i have to press the button a couple of times to get track to play and not pause itself.... battery holds charge for maybe 4hrs @ just under half volume with skullcandy earbuds, but at the same time, its hard to really tell because one day it cuts out after 2hrs from what it claims is a full charge and sometimes, if i am lucky, i can manage to squeeze 5hrs out of it. highly recommend getting a battery bank if you are on a road trip longer than 2hrs.... i also think that the fact that you cant use it while plugged into charger is not good. means i have to wait for it to charge before i can use it again, which i have to do often......all this being said, for about $20, it was worth the purchase. im gonna buy a couple more just so that i have a couple of them fully charged and ready so i dont have to be without music while waiting on it to charge

Stopped working after three weeks!
After a few weeks of use it, it stopped working - screen went blank and does not seem to have a reset button. Complete waste of money.Update - Superme Global have kindly offered to send me a new MP3 player. Let's hope it works!
