Poor Design - extremely hard to replace battery
We got a few of the Powerview remote controls from Blinds Alley after having them install Hunter Douglas blinds for us.The remotes work pretty well and has rich programmable features - that's Good. One of them malfunctioned after less than 3mo and couldn't control the blinds. In an effort to diagnose we tried to replace the batteries in the remote - this is when the experience became Extremely Extremely frustrating: first, the remote has a housing/casing - it's a real pain-in-the-back to get it out of the housing. My fingers are too big to pry it out. Asking my child to help but it takes so much effort that I didn't want to break their nails or fingers. So I used a screwdriver to pry open - the problem is, no matter how gentle I try, the screwdriver will put significant dent and scratch on the control unit, which made my wife really really pissed.Next, trying to open the back cover of the control unit is Another royal pain: using my fingers it's not possible. So I used a quarter (screwdriver would be too thin) which was also what the Blinds Alley installer recommended. Alas, twisting the quarter did open the back cover easily - but just As Easily, the twisting left permanent scratch/dent on the back cover, again pissing off the wife. Last, getting the cell batteries out was another pain - not as much but still pain as there is no easy pop-off button or anything. If I had time I would record a video of the painful process- it's otherwise a nice-looking unit that works fairly well with rich features. But for the poor design to replace battery Alone, I would NOT recommend them.

Uses as expected, came with our new Hunter Douglas powerview blinds
We've only had these little guys a few months but they work great in each room and I love that it you turn it face side down to nicely match your home decor. I LOVE not having to pull on tangled strings anymore. We have already had an unexpected gardening visit one morning when all of our backyard blinds were up. It was so nice to press, "ALL" and instantly lower every shade downstairs simultaneously. One commenter pointed out something valuable that we read in the manual that saves the battery. Longpress 6 and it won't wake up the pebble remote every time you pick it up. Generally, when you pick it up, the numbers for the last blinds you moved will light up. I didn't like this feature because I don't care what I last activated, just the one I want to activate now. So, we used the above feature once we read it in the manual. We have several of these remotes in the house, and the only thing I wish was that they had some distinguishing feature to tell them apart, but so far we haven't gotten them mixed up.

Battery issue resolved .
To everyone complaining about battery lifespan your remote is activated with any small movement this draining your battery, if you hold down channel 6 until it blinks this will deactivate that feature .this will save your battery and will last you a couple of years .
