I've been using my hydro flask bottle for several months and has been great. However, the regular cap that comes with the bottle makes a lot of noise when opening and closing. It is also a bit tough to drink out of when walking or doing anything active (it'll just spill everywhere). I was looking at the hydro flask sport cap and was turned off by the bad reviews of it leaking. I saw this "The Coldest Water" straw cap as a "frequently purchased" product and saw the good reviews. Decided to give it a try. As usual, amazon shipping is great and received it in 2 days. I received instructions from the seller on how to cut and insert the straw a day before so I had an idea what to expect. When I received it, i gave it a quick wash (please wash it because the rubber tip has a slight manufacture scent to it, which I expected). I cut the straw to size at an angle. The straw is soft enough to cut but hard enough to last. The package also came with 2 straws as well as a straw cleaner. I inserted the straw into the rubber straw holder on the cap and screw it on my bottle. Immediately, I tried the leak test by turning it upside down, shaking it, etc. No leaks. I've been using it for 2 days now and have not leaked on me. One major "bad" thing I noticed is the tip is a little tight to rotate out to start drinking. There is a little plastic platform where you can use your finger to push down but takes a bit of finesse. I wish there was a mechanism that would allow easier rotation as well as prevent touching the tip with your fingers. Some smaller things I found is there is a loud "suction" sound when you finish your sip but I assume this would be the case for any "suction/straw" caps. Also I noticed I need to suck a little harder when the bottle is full. I wouldn't remove 1-star from the cap from these "issues" though. Still a great cap so far.

i think it works great! i didn’t want to pay for the hydro flask brand name cap, and this one had good reviews so i bought it. i’ve had it for about 4 months now and it is completely leak proof you just have to make sure you screw it on tightly. My only issue is that sometimes it is hard to drink from it. you have to really suck to get the water out. i think i’ve come to the conclusion that after washing, if the cap is not dried completely, including the little cracks, the left over water prevents the cap from working properly. you just have to blow out the extra water. I like how there are 2 straws that come with it and even a little cleaner. the bristle cleaner is so useful! there’s a lot of gunk that comes out when i clean it! you can cut the straws to whatever size you need and it is easy to install. The little square handle kind of hurts my hand when i’m holding it, and the clip it comes with isn’t very sturdy and came off (and i lost it) after about a week. I replaced the bad clip with one of my own and it fixed that issue! overall, although this isn’t THE BEST product out there, it does the job and i’m satisfied, especially for the price! i recommend :)

I've owned several products from this company, and generally, they're built like tanks. Sure, if you drop them on pavement or concrete they'll dent or scratch, but they still keep performing like no other bottles I've ever used. I bought this lid back when it launched in August 2018, after owning the earlier version, and this one is much improved. Unfortunately, I had a problem with the mouthpiece getting misaligned, so that sometimes nothing would come out, so I emailed the company with a picture of what was happening. Within 24 hours, they had a new one and a spare on the way to me without any further questions. If you're on the fence, give this lid a try. It's well-made, has a lifetime guarantee, and I know first-hand that they stand behind their products and their guarantee. And if you haven't tried their bottles yet - get one as soon as possible. I can't imagine any other bottle outperforming these things. The larger ones are kind of spendy (although I'm quite sure you get what you pay for), but the 21 and 32 oz bottles are pretty reasonable. I have both of those sizes - my personal preference is the smaller one, but that's just me - both are great bottles. Also, once you've bought from them and you're "in the club", so to speak, they'll send you a discount code that's good on all future Coldest purchases at Amazon.

If you're willing to return it until you get a fully functioning one, this lid is high-quality and works really well. I bought this cap about 2 years ago and have loved it. So when I got another water bottle recently, I bought another lid. However, the air vent didn't allow any air through; when you sucked on the straw it created a vacuum and stopped you from drinking continuously. I returned it for a replacement, thinking it was just a fluke. However, the replacement had the same problem. Losing hope, I decided to return it for yet another replacement, this time making absolutely sure to order the exact same model and style as the one I bought a year ago. Lo and behold, the third one had the same problem! Losing hope, I emailed customer service, and they sent me a fourth cap for free. This time (finally) it works great.
