Works great. Good value.
The bottle arrived in good condition and yields the same results as my other brand PH reagent. Phenol comes in different concentrations. With this Taylor R-0004, I use 2 drops for my color match. Some brands need 5 drops to get useable readings. With my test kit, 2 drops gives me the same reults as my original reagent and my test strips. Save money with this 2 oz. size.

pH indicator
We use this daily to check the pH in our pool. It is pretty accurate. We use only Taylor products which saves us from visiting the pool store too much. The date was far enough out that I think we can use all of the solution before it expires.

Genuine Taylor Technologies R-0004-C solution/reagent
I bought the Taylor R-0004-C solution from Amato Industries Inc. I am a skeptical person so I originally had three concerns when I placed this order with a third party other than from Amazon LLC.1. Is the product legit? Meaning if they use genuine Taylor Technologies R-0004 bottled reagent or just some generic solution.2. Is the shelf life of the reagent at least a year? I don’t want to get something that has a short expiration date.3. Can the third party ship fast? I ordered directly from Taylor Technologies before and even though they are very friendly and willing to help, they do not ship out products fast. It took Taylor at least a week to ship out my product (not receive, but just to ship it out).I just received and test the R-0004-C yesterday (it’s 2oz by the way, for those who wonder). Here is what I found out:1. It’s real Taylor Tech. product. I even tested it and compared it with my existing R-0004 reagent received from Taylor Technologies’ original test kit box. The results are identical.2. The reagent expires in 4/2018, so that’s longer than 1 year.3. Amato shipped out the product fast so it did not take me long before I receive the solution.Other notes – Try not to order this during summer time. I ran out of chemicals so I have to, otherwise I would avoid summer shipping. The chemical arrived “hot” and it has some smells that could be hazardous. I live in AZ so 100+ degrees is not ideal for this chemical especially when it sits in the mail box for several hours.

Leaked
Was correct but luckily was inside a sealed package when placed in shipping packaging and leaked. Will keep since there was minimal leakage.

Reagent R0014 for the 1000 series tester is different (less concentrated) than this R0004
If you have a Taylor series 1000 or similar chlorine and ph tester that uses a 6 ml test sample, this R0004 is much too concentrated and the colors are too dark if you use the called out 5 drops. The R0004 is made for a 44 ml sample and color matched to that large sample. However, 2 drops of the R0004 matches up perfectly with the called out 5 drops of R0014 in the 6 ml 1000 series.. I checked color matching at 3 different ph levels and had exact matching results with the two reagents and the color chart on the 1000 series test sampler. I did this testing mainly to keep from wasting the money I spent ordering the "wrong" reagent. So just use 2 drops of R0004 and save yourself some money (or order the correct R0014 to begin with). As an aside, I've found that using 4 drops of the R0014 reagent color matches better and easier with my sampler. After all, you are trying to match color not the depth of the tint. Both reagents are phenol red which is why this works out.
