Upgraded Furnace X13 Furnace Blower Motor and Module Fits Carrier HD42AR225

I purchased this motor to replace the original a/c blower motor on my Carrier model # 5SME39DXL180 HD42AR225. It has been running beautifully for about a month now. It is more powerful and quieter than the original. That said it does have a couple of drawbacks. The shaft is about 1 ½ inches longer than the original and the motor body with module is also about 1 ½ inches longer. This gave me very little wiggle room to center the squirrel cage and still be able to get the whole unit back into the air handler. Also there is a condensation drip slot on the side of the motor that is suppose to be facing down. My problem is that the motor gets mounted vertically in my unit so that this slot can not face down. I called their tech support about this and was told it is not recommended to mount this motor vertically for this very reason, that it may or my not cause a problem. I pointed out that there is no mention of this in their description or in the instructions and that all the pictures on the box show it vertical. He had no response to this. I decided to take my chances and give it a shot. For this reason I am giving it four stars instead of five. I will keep this review updated if something goes wrong.
