Coaster - Phoenix Contemporary Queen Bookcase Bed with Underbed Storage Drawers 200409Q

I have had this bed frame for a few years and moved it with me a few times. It is -exhausting- to assemble and I think mine was always missing a few parts. For some reason, the bed gives a lot of support on the lower half, but the upper half does not provide much support at all and has some thin, odd, cheap bits of wood that don't seem to connect well involved. My partner keeps falling through it now, especially when he sits near the headboards (where adults would be expected to put weight while like IDK, sipping at some tea while reading before bed), and we're looking into how to add more wood to create better support. Full disclosure - because I move frequently, I refuse to nail the boards down. It would ruin my ability to keep moving and pulling it apart and putting it together again. Maybe if you never need to move and can nail the boards down, this won't be a problem for you? It still has most of the support at the feet.That being said, the height is a GODSEND for my sore joints and adds to my daily productivity. I have to rest often and being able to slide off the bed into a standing position makes things far easier for me. I cannot underline how much of an impact that has on its own. The storage is also really awesome. The wood isn't like... the best solid wood (it's clearly made of particle board type things in a few places - really odd for the price), but like, it works and has mostly held up to a few moves.I believe it has DOUBLED in price since I bought it. If they've upgraded the supports at the top end and made it so more of it is solid wood, that makes sense. Otherwise, I am confused.I love the look and the storage and the height and how sturdy -some- parts of the bed are. I am very glad I got this bed and don't see much real competition for it. It's still the best - though I wish it were better (mostly via support on the top half). If they fix the support issue and/or lower the price again, I would definitely buy it again if/when my current one needed replacing.

First let me say that this bed is everthing and more of the quality we expected. My husband and I have always liked the Coaster product due to it being one of the only fairly priced furniture product you can buy today with some solid woods. ( Our friend owns a furniture store and we paid his cost for this bed from amazon. We paid $737 + free shipping and it cost $1100 in his store.) The product came very well packed and instructions were easy to understand the assembly( which was very little) was easy. As, we opened the boxes it all smelled fresh and like new clean wood. We scanned every portion of the product for flaws ,not one scratch or ding or imporper manufactured mechnaical piece. Everthing came exactly as described and intaced. A little about the build of the bed, if your wondering. The bed does stand rather high if you plan on putting a 10'' to 12'' mattress on top of the bed it will require a 6' 5" person to get a stool or either take a small leap to get into the bed. Although my husband and I were aware of this prior to purchase. So, we were fine with it. The quality of each piece is amazing it actually contains two small dressers and a large foot board with more dresser storage space. You could almost order one of these beds and use all three of the storage portions as seperate free standing ottoman dressers or if you get creative a tv stand for the foot board, if you didnt want to put the bed on it. Also be aware that another reason we bought the bed because it was advertised as a platform. Although it is not a full platform it is a half platform. Therefore, half of it has a solid platform under matress and half it has slats. You dont want to put a memory foam on slats because it will sink through the slats. So if you want to put memory foam on it you will need some small venneer or pressed board piece to put under your matress. Although we were also aware of this point. So far as style the bed has a very modern Capuccino Dark Wood finish with new looking chrome handles with a beautiful bevel cut on drawers. Knowing all those point above. Everthing about the bed and the product is great and exactly as described the seller called me prior to ensure shipping was correct and remind us of customer statisfaction.THE only point all buyers need to be aware of is that, although shipping is free ;it is a bit of work. If you live on a smaller street or one that has older lower power lines the truck cannot fit down your street. We had to meet them at a central location and there are three boxes wieghing 193lbs, 131 lbs and appro 80 lbs. so you need to be prepared to do some lifting and hauling they only do curb side or near your house shipping. Also there is alot of cardboard and packaging material styrofoam and wood pallets that need to be disposed of took about two to three trash service days to dispose of it all . So far as shipping time it was sufficient for a package this size about a week and a half.Overall I would give this product a 10 or 5 whatever the highest scale is to be...Quality 5shipping 4customer staisfaction 5
