GE PSS28KSHSS Side Refrigerator

Have had this brand before and still have smaller one downstairs as backup. Big with great lighting. It's a beauty for people who cook. I've had major brands and whirlpool, maytag, frigidaire have all broken in a less than 8 years. Every GE I've had always lasted forever.

Very quiet, huge ice maker, plenty of room in both fridge and freezer, and everything is easily accessible.

This fridge is a giant! It's not really special in any other way other than being very large. The ice maker shoots flakes out over top of the glass no matter how wide the mouth while on cube mode. It is slightly wider than advertised and I had to cut 1/4" off my shelving on the side in order for it to fit.

Customers be careful! I have a similar GE side-by-side refrigerator (PSS26LS RS SS) bought 11 years ago. GE refrigerators are very problematic. So far the water tank, temperature censers, evaporator fan are all replaced. Now the $150 worth of main board needs to be replaced. GE knew this is their design fraud and recalled this parts at 2006, but after 2012 GE is not responsible for it anymore. By the way, the ice maker on the refrigerator was never work properly and the top shelf of the freezer is never freezing.

After Whirlpool stopped producing their 30cuft fridge, this is the last of the family size no-nonsense fridges. I hate more than 2 doors, as it leads to leaks & mold in the humid climate we have, so this is perfect in that respect. And it is also the last fridge that has an icemaker worthy the name, it produces enough so you don't have to run out & buy a bag when you fill the cooler for the weekend. I really hate everything American getting smaller (Suburban is Euro-size in the meantime), but with this fridge you are fine with a last piece of true Americana for a few years, depending on how well it holds up....

Replaced a GE side by side after 3 compressors, with the Profile. Still several repair issues, water dispenser, valve, then hose placement caused it to melt. Finally compressor went. Trying Fridgidaire this time, but I have a feeling they're all junk.

Dont buy GE. They have no service in large parts of Indiana and NO ONE wants to come service their products. HUGE disappointment buying "American." I spent 5 hours dealing with GE trying to find a service solution. NO ONE will come. Seriously!
