SOWING INDOORS - Nasturtium's dislike their roots being disturbed. It is advisable to sow the in 8 cm biodegradable pots in moist compost at the depth suggested on the seed packet.

Place in a propagator or clear polythene bag and seal. Germinate at the temperature suggested on the seed packet. Once the start to germinate remove from the bag or propagator and place in cooler but not cold conditions. Protect from frost.

Grow on in frost free conditions in a greenhouse or cold frame until all risk of frost has passed and the s are growing strong. Harden off over 7 - 10 days before ing out so they can acclimatise to the outdoor temperature.

DIRECT SOWING - Sow the outdoors in April - May in a well prepared seedbed where the s are to flower. Sow one seed 25 - 30 cm apart in rows 30 cm apart at the depth suggested on the seed packet. The soil should be a fine tilth. Water the newly sown well.
