Absolutely excellent, do a simple mod though.
This one is worth the extra money, its very light and strong, nicely made. The blade works very well on soft/medium wood, on diameters ~4" it'll almost keep up with my Boreal 21 bow saw, and the Silky is far far easier to get started (doesn't "catch" at first)I modified the Silky blade in one tiny area - I used a dremel with small diameter (like 1/8") grinding bit and put a small detent notch in the back of the saw blade right where the lock pin hits the blade in the closed position. Now it locks closed too, perfect for keeping in a pack where it might otherwise get snagged open somehow, or setting it down around small kids.Be sure to mark the blade accurately with a pencil or Sharpie just ahead of the pin in the closed position, keep your notch right behind the mark and it'll lock perfectly. They should to it at the factory, or etch the spot to grind out to make it easier/foolproof.

shockingly easy, even for this gimpy gardener
Other brands have less sturdy blades that snap easily when someone doesn't pull the blade perfectly strait. This one didn't mind my spazzy nerve-damaged hands at all.Straight ones require a lot more arm strength. This one was easy despite my sickly body having no real strength anymore. Also, applying less pressure means less strain on my arthritic joints. It only cuts during the pull motion, so pushing it back is easy, and the curve means no serious pressure need be applied during the pulling motion. The teeth tore right through some thick branches, making smooth cuts with ease.Tool makers are always getting even the simplest things wrong in their designs, and then tend to make those designs with poor materials and poor workmanship. It's a beautiful thing when a tool is so simple, and yet so perfect. I can be a little OCD about tools, so it is extremely rare for me to be THIS pleased.

This Product is Phenomenal
This was so smooth and lightweight. This was a gift and my boyfriend is very happy with it’s ease of use and practicality. We did end up bending the blade slightly in the first few uses, It was probably my fault. I wish I would’ve bought a back up blade but it continued to work fine. The hardened teeth are still as sharp as when I first got it, and we cut a lot of 3-6 inch diameter firewood for our three day camping trip.I did run into an error with shipping though my product was damaged in transit and they didn’t immediately send out a replacement And didn’t even notify me that the product was getting sent back as far as I knew on my page it said they were still “attempting delivery” I don’t think this is the providers fault I think that Amazon needs to pay special attention to detail and communicate with buyers more effectively when handling peoples packages. I had to Go out of my way to message customer service and Have a replacement sent when the package was two days late because no one thought to send a replacement when they initiated a return of the initial package. I was upset, this system should be standard. We almost went camping without a saw....

I Like My Silky
I recently got the Silky New Professional Ultra Accel Curved Blade Saw. I used it today at our land for about three hours continually. I cut through green wood and through very dry wood. I cut down trees, I delimbed trees; pruned trees, cut up firewood, cut through poison ivy. I cut over my head, below my knees, horizontal, and vertical. The saw cut very well. It feels very comfortable in hand. I am a woman with small to average female hands. I did not wear gloves and I had no blisters or wear on my hands. I did have a little black on my hand from the handle which could because the saw is new. The handle is super comfortable. I had used a Fiskars previously, which got the job done for me, but, I did notice the Friskars handle was noticeably less comfortable to my hand. I noticed today, also, that the Fiskars did not cut as well as the Silky. The Fiskars is good, and I felt a little apprehensive today that I might break my Silky saw blade, whereas, I don't think about blade breakage as much with the Fiskars, however, the Silky cut so well and was super comfortable in my hand after prolonged usage, that I never went back to get the Fiskars where I left it laying (well, I did go get it when we were leaving to take it back home).I was a little possessive of the Silky saw, so, I might have to buy more if anyone else wants to cut and needs a saw.

Outstanding. My new favorite camping/overlanding saw
First of all, I have many hand saws including three other Silkys, four Stihls, and about one each for most other popular brands. My other Silky saws have straight blades, but I found using my curved Stihls that I wished I could combine the performance of Silky folding saws with curved blade. While the straight blades give good precision and work well in tight spaces and in when reaching around branches, they are less efficient at general sawing branches especially when an extended arm can cause the saw to slip out on the draw stroke. Plus pulling the saw is the main cutting stroke and the curve keeps the saw in place better than a straight blade. This Silky is not the lightest, but certainly within in reasonable expectations for such a solid and high quality saw. The grip material is formed different than my other Silky saws. Will see how well it hold up given its sharper corners.Note that this saw has two locking open blade positions, but also a bit of a detent that holds the blade closed although not locked closed.

Produto excelente.

Ultra Accel= Ultra excellence.
This model from Silky is the most robust of their folding saws. There is no plastic at all, the handle is aluminum with an overmold of Silky's Gom rubber. I have used this on both green and seasoned wood, and it cuts both easily, hardwood or soft wood. Cuts are incredibly smooth, to the point they have a satin sheen to the finish, as if sanded by a very fine grit, or planed with a very sharp edge. Even rip cuts down the grain are not a problem. The saw cuts FAST, particularly when you learn the proper technique since being a pull saw it cuts differently to North American carpentry saws (which cut on the push) or traditional buck saws and logging saws (which cut on both push and pull). Cut with controlled, deliberate strokes with very light pressure on the push, and increased pressure on the pull and there won't be problems with binding or bending the blade. The teeth are intended for wood. Cutting other material like bone, antler, drywall, etc can result in damaged teeth and dulling of the cutting edges, so for tradespeople, craftspeople, hunters, etc. be aware of that. I find this size to be about the largest that fits in my BDU side pocket, small haversack, the "painter's pocket" on Carhart work dungarees and such, but is too big for a belt sheath made for a Bacho Laplander. Coating the blade in vegetable oil, mineral spirits, WD40, FluidFilm or other similar product will help when cutting sap rich, or resinous wood, and make cleaning the blade much easier plus help prevent corrosion. If I had a critique at all it would be that other than your choice of curved or straight blade, you have no options as far as tooth pattern and only have coarse to pick from, either in ordering the saw or replacement blades. It may be possible that Gomboy blades fit, but I've found no information showing they will or won't.
