Empower Yoga Mat

I purchased this several months ago for my sister-in-law and wife to use during their Yoga sessions. They have not had any complaints about it. I know that there has been some peeling of the material especially with more frequent usage, but nothing on the level of the other reviewer. Certainly no large holes or defects. My guess is the previous reviewer got a bad batch. Amazon's 30 day return policy is usually sufficient for this sort of thing.It is a bit expensive for the quality which resulted in the lower grade. The mat is not the best quality, but serves the purpose fine. I would grade it a 5 or 6 out of 10. The color matches up to the online image. The zebra print is cute and lightly patterned so as not to overwhelm.Also, it does not have a bad odor like some of the other mats do. The minor smell dissipates within a few days. It rolls up nicely and holds its shape on the floor. It has a small black logo in the corner but that does not disturb your yoga sessions. Consider getting a strap to hold it together and in the closed position when not using it.

So - in reading the reviews prior to buying this product I had mixed feelings - but I like that it is Eco-Friendly and loved the handle (this does come in SUPER handy!).The mat itself is very pretty. It is very slippery! HOWEVER: I read up on non-slip mats - and they are all slippery for the first few weeks! So don't let that turn you away from this one. I found blogs that suggested "giving your mat a salt scrub" to rough up the surface (some ppl do sandpaper) and hurry up the break-in process. This actually really worked well. I did one side w/ hot water+salt, scrubbed, then let dry and shook off the salt - and it's way less slippery than the other now.Also- It's a little thin - and hurts your knees when you're in certain positions on wooden studio floors- but I think I may use one of the studio mats as a cushion (I think most mats are this thick - bc/ most of them I searched were this thickness - so - whatever.)Overall - I think as Yoga mats go - it's a good one for the price. I'll break it in - it'll be less slippery - and I'll put a studio mat under it for my knees... It's cute, and functional, and the handle is a deal.Solid 30$ spent.

Buying this yoga mat was a great mistake, its material is from a very low quality. The first time I used it it teared apart some parts where my fingers where pressing. The second time it got a big hole where mi feet should be.. Could not use it a third time since I don't know what else might happen!I used my former yoga mat for almost 2 years and now this one I could not use it for more than two days!!

After reviewing a lot of yoga mats, this one sounded like good quality for a good price. Unfortunately it IS quite slippery, and after just a few uses it is starting to fall apart! Because it was bought and kept for a Christmas present the return time has expired--otherwise I definitely would return it.

Great price for the product you receive. Very thick yoga mat for high intensity workouts such as power yoga and Pilates. Super fun design too and I love the logo detail.

This mat has a nice cushion that behaves like memory foam but it is really slippery for yoga! I'm not a yoga expert but it slides on the wooden floor of the studio and under my fingers and toes. I've ordered another one to try out to avoid injury.

Wonderful mat, beautiful colour and quality (thickness).My only complaint is that it is a little slippery. I sweat quite a bit when I workout and my hands slip a bit more than I would like on this mat.Still manageable, but makes me work a little harder to do my push ups.

Disappointed as after one use it already started coming apart when I did abs with my running shoes. It's only a good mat to do yoga barefoot.
