How to win the war for your attention
As someone with ADHD, I've struggled to manage my attention and have given the issue a lot of thought, so this book was right up my alley. I'm already benefiting from the strategies Bailey lays out. In fact, he made sure I'd start putting them into practice right away with his opening section "How to Better Focus on this Book" -- a nice touch. For me, the key insight is that we spend too much of our time having the focus of our attention chosen for us, and that we'd be happier and more productive if we "managed our attention with intention" instead. Having introduced this idea, Bailey arms us with tools for doing just that. The book is clear, actionable, and all too necessary in today's crazed digital environment.

Down to earth take on an essential life skill
What I most appreciate about this book is Chris' tone. He doesn't promise a magic silver bullet to the problem of inefficiency. He's down to earth, has a good sense of humor, and keeps an invitational tone rather than an expert directive one. Productivity's important but it need not be serious. The book's thesis is well-organized and and very readable - a product of Hyperfocus, no doubt - with excellent references to the numerous studies he cites. I really enjoyed his top-10 lists of practical tactics for bears like email and meetings and smartphone seduction. If you've yet to find a productivity system that clicks or lasts, consider the well-articulated concept of Hyperfocus (and its sister, Scatterfocus) that Chris presents here.(btw Chris, if you're reading this, I hope you're doing so intentionally!)

Very good reading on a tired subject
I am an executive with more than 20 years of experience. I often find this kind of book inaccurate or simply boring. This one is neither! I am enjoying increased productivity and meaningful life just by implementing a few tips. Read this!!!

Operating manual for your mind.
Good read. I’ve been studying mindfulness, learning how to learn, and related matters for a season. The book complements my self-study with Chris Bailey’s discussion of hyper focus and scatter focus. His tips for maximizing the efficacy and benefits of these two states to better integrate our mental processes is quite useful. If you’re looking to better understand your brain and how it learns, this book is for you.

Transformative
The book is incredibly helpful to me with a lot of great concepts. I'm going apply the knowledge. It's what I just need for studying. Here's a quote I really like from the book:"Just as you are what you eat, you are what you pay attention to. Attention is finite and is the most valuable ingredient you have to live a good life—so make sure everything you consume is worthy of it." - Chris Bailey

Leftovers from Productivity Project
Productivity Project is a fantastic book which I have recommended to others, unfortunately Hyperfocus is not as good. It seems like Bailey had a lot of leftover research which didn't make it into Productivity Project so he lumped it into Hyperfocus. In addition, there is some overlap between what he writes in Productivity Project and Hyperfocus. If you've read Productivity Project then save your money since full fare for this new book isn't worth it. Had this book been marketed as a companion book to Productivity Project with a lower price it would have been fine.

Simple to read. I am still marveling on making a change based on accomplishments vs tasks.

Thats going to clear your 'why' needs to change yout habits.2) while reading you can feel the hardwork made by author. Full of logical example.3) You can relate your life.4) It have full potential to change your life. No motivation it was journey of knowledge and realisation. I am thankful to author. And my last advice if you don't mind try to read this book with in 3-4days if you take 2 weeks then your mind cannot process whole knowledge of the book. Believe me the best part of this book is in middle, finish and apply. It would be fun. All the best for your better life.

If you are struggling with work/life balance this is a great book for you
This is a book of two halves. The first half which concentrates on Hyperfocus is excellent. It is packed full of good thinking and practical tools that are very useful. In fact as a coach I have recommended this book to several of my clients. The second half of the book is about scatterfocus which is about developing innovative thinking. I didn't find this particularly engaging and there are much better authors on this topic. Nonetheless, the first part is so good, I would still recommend buying even if you did as I did - give up half-way through.

This book is genius and will improve the quality and speed up your work.
This is the book you didn't know you needed! This book really has changed my life. I was recommended it by a YouTuber and it did not disappoint. Chris has really nailed the concept of "hyper focus", which is really important in this modern age where we have become so unfocused by our mobile phones, work environments and just waist valuable time. It will teach you brilliant tactics for focusing on your tasks better and along the way is packed with many gems to help create a better focused life; implementing tactics such as meditation, mindfulness and how you use your technology. This book can be helpful for anyone, wether you work in an office and feel overwhelmed by emails, or work at home and feel your mind wanders. This book will help you.

Unexpectedly good
This book will teach you about hyperfocus and scatterfocus (when our mind wanders) how to use, when to use, where to use to increase productivity. Highly recommended

Great title, learned some new bits
Great book, most important thing I learned was about allowing moments of scatterfocus.
