I have owned a few rc's before, but this was different from your average target/walmart rc. I wasn't expecting much from this RC, but boy was I wrong. In short, it is durable, fast, and has a long non stop play time. I thought this wasn't going to have any of that. Blew my expectations away. Reliability may be a problem and accidents can happen. That's why you buy the toy accidental plan protection for 3 dollars for 2 years. I was thinking about buying the 100 dollar rc cars but this definitely filled my need for speed. So a few things to keep in mind about this RC Car that beats the cheaper ones:Pros-There is a speed setting on the remote for the little ones to play or if you want to practice indoors. You want more speed? Crank it all the way up and it's really fast. Off course it can be FASTER but come on it's 50 dollars!-Non stop play. The battery lasted for around 30 mins. half of the time was low speed and the other half max speed setting. I'm not sure if each battery is 1500 MAH. But if it is that means this car carries 3000 Mah with both batteries inserted, which mean this carries more battery life then any other rc car that I've seen without having to swap them out! I'm definitely buying an extra set!-Durability this is my opinion as I realize others have negative review for this. IMO the plastic is durable and strong, but keep in mind this car is rated for 20+ MPH max speed, do you realize what would happen if you were in a car and hit something at 20 MPH? To top it off this thing is tiny compared to a regular car. Let alone this if for ages 14+ but I'm buying it for my boys who is younger. Do yourself a favor and buy the toy accidental protection it's 3 or 4 dollars for 2 years or for 3 years it is alittle more. IMO way worth the investment.-Charging could be faster but 2 hours is reasonable! again it's 60 dollars!To conclude, buy this thing if you have 60 bucks to spend on a rc car and get the protection plan!

I ordered this for my 10 year old son. He loves it! It seems to be well built and able to take some abuse. I'm not sure if it is quite up to the rated 36 km/h (a little over 20 mph) but it is definitely fast enough to be fun. It drives great through the grass, in the dirt, as well as on pavement. He even tried it out at a local skate park and it was able to withstand some substantial crashes. The batteries are a little unusual, two 18650 li-on cells but they seem to work well. However, they do take about two hours to recharge after about 20-25 minutes of hard driving. We'll have to pick up a few more sets. My only regret with buying it for him is now I need to buy a second one for myself! I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Hosim product.

EDIT: This company contacted me and offered me a replacement for no cost to me. I am very happy they made it better with perfect customer service!This is a very fast, very fun car but the quality could be better for the price. My son has had it just over 1 month and the glue that holds the tires on has given out and one tire falls off over and over again.

My oldest son got a Traxxas Slash 1/16 for his birthday so we got this cheaper car so we could race. The Traxxas is a $200 RC so comparing them is not fair and to be honest they have both suffered breakages. The Hosim fried its speed controller with 2 weeks, broke its rear differential within 2 months and has just sheared a rear wheel screw which needs a new screw and axle assembly. All the spare parts have been easy to find on Amazon, have shipped quickly and been cheap so I am not too worried. The car is quick enough to keep up with Traxxas RC but the acceleration is not as instant. Handling is a bit bouncy but some lubrication inside the shock absorbers helps a lot. Steering is good, direct and sturdy. The controller on/off switch kept sticking in the on position so I took it apart, lubed the switch and made the hole on the controller body bigger. Works fine now. You would need to buy extra batteries form Hosim, I bought two sets as it takes a long time to charge them (2.5 hours) and run time is 30 minutes depending on throttle use. After a summer of driving the buggy and racing against my two kids who both now have Traxxas cars I am still liking it despite the breakages. All RC cars break so I'm not complaining, I've had to fix the Traxxas cars too.

This is a great beginner/intermediate car for 7-12 years olds. Still has enough speed to keep their attention. Handles great, fast car and it's all wheel drive. As with all R/C cars, you need to avoid the curbs. We had a small accident with the front drive shaft. Hosim sent free parts and free shipping within 10 days to fix. They also threw in some extra parts too. They definitely want to keep us a happy customer. I was impressed with their customer service department. Great car at a great price. Would highly recommend. We are looking at 4X4 truck now. I would recommend buying another set of batteries to rotate.

Do not buy these cars. hosim you have really disappointed me I bought three of these cars and none of them work. I have fixed one of them four times and I've had it less than a month. I bought three all together. I was going to send them back. But I figured I would just keep them and try to keep at least two of the cars running out of the three. Well that's impossible because the same Parts keep breaking. I will never buy another one of your products.

This car was a ton of fun to drive. Easy to control, and really fast. However, after only the fourth time using it, the car stopped working very suddenly (without hitting a bump or anything) and now the batteries won’t charge. I returned it to Amazon for a full refund. I would not recommend this product.
