Q: Will this receive Ytmusic

Hi I not familiar with Ytmusic, but if you know the part of the world it broadcast from and it transmits to the internet you should get it .In the UK there are hundreds of stations from well known stations to local and even some hospital one's.

Q: Does this have sound controls and equalizer

David, the unit itself only has a level control on the panel, but the handset and app (called Undok) on mobile has access to everything on the unit. The equalization is a set of presets (jazz, rock, classic, level ,etc. and also a personal one which you can set up treble and bass to your liking. I use the app most of the time as the display is too small to read at a distance. The unit was very easy to set up and quality seems fine, Only had it a few months but very reliable so far. Radio stations can be set up on you own lists as well, useful. Access to stuff on your own network, if you have one, seems effortless also. Would recommend. Ian W.

Q: When you tune into bbc programs via the internet (eg radio 3), do you need to register before listening? thanks

I'm not sure. I don't think so. Just try it see. Your paying for the Radio through your TV Licence

Q: Can you record stations and set a timer while away?

Unfortunately not. There is a sleep timer to turn it off, but no timer to start the unit on aschedule. You can record to an external device, but this requires the unit be on the station and switched on. You can set the sleep timer to switch off up to 2 hours later, so you could record during the time before that, using record timer on e.g. a DVD recorder.
