Sturdy and attractive cutting board
Great quality and great value. The cutting board is well constructed and feels like it's built to last. After washing and drying I oiled the board and it soaked up a ton. You definitely want to oil this board before using it or whatever you cut on it will soak into the board. It's a good thickness and pretty heavy so the board won't move around a lot while you're using it. It's a decent size at 20x14 so it's good for cutting most things in the kitchen. You could leave it on the counter as it's quite attractive although I lug this 12 pound board and put it away each time I use it. It's got a juice groove on one side and is flat on the other so it's pretty versatile. When I bought it, this size and shape board was quite a bit cheaper for the size compared to the rectangular board. I've only had it for a few weeks and there aren't any cut marks in it yet, but it's so thick it can be sanded if it ever needed it. I'm counting on having this cutting board for a long time.

Perfect size board!
This is a great board. It’s a really nice size to keep on the counter, but manageable enough to move when need be. Mine showed up REALLY dry. I’ve put about 10 coats of conditioner on it now which makes it very easy to clean. I like that it’s reversible. The juice well is a great feature when needed. I leave mine on the counter with the short side out which leaves me enough room for day to day cutting, but if need be I can flip it to the long side for more room or for carving roasts and such. I’m not sure if my board showed up with a slight bow, or what the issue was, but it moved around a little more than I wanted on my quartz counter. I used a piece of shelf liner under it and now it’s rock solid. Doesn’t move at all!

Quality, sturdy, good looking cutting boards!
I ordered this last week and haven't used it yet (need to oil and finish it), but it looked so great I ordered a second one in a different size. Good quality, great medium/light wood tone, etc. I will say that I had to return the very first one I received as I did not like the coloring of part of the board. It was a strangely colored board that was spotty and blotchy - it was natural to the wood, but I really didn't like it. So I returned that bought another (great coloring and tone) and liked it so much I ordered a second size. HOWEVER, note that they charge you to return/exchange. It was about $10 for shipping. Super annoying considering I bought two boards and almost $300.

Warps in 13 months.
I have purchased the John Boos Mystery Oil gallon jug and the 6 pack of John Boos Mystery Cremes. The products are applied as directed on the first of every month, along with watering plants, giving the dog her heartworm, etc. I have to place towels under this cutting board as it rocks back and forth like a banana after 13 months of use. Customer service informed me of some very important restrictions for use of this cutting board. Namely: 1. Do not keep someplace with moisture in the air (aka Earth). 2. Do not keep anywhere the board could get wet (aka Kitchen). MOST IMPORTANT: 3. Do not keep on granite countertops. Apparently granite and concrete act as a sponge for the moisture in the board, so if you have granite or concrete countertops according to John Boos customer service you should not expect to maintain a flat board using the recommended care procedures you received when you got the board. But, not all is lost. If you do have warpage you just need to stand your 18" X 24" cutting board up on its end after oiling. And additionally, if that doesn't work you simply need to adhere plastic (plastic liner, dry cleaning wrap, etc.) to the convex side of the board. After adhering the plastic you will need to oil the opposite side of the board every single day. Keep in mine, when applying the creme and oil the board is unusable. This is already done every 3-4 weeks, so you are looking at multiple days of non-use with normal oiling. Once you have warpage, instead of using your board every day you can plan to oil it every day and revert back to the $7 plastic cutting boards you bought at homegoods. It's comical how much maintenance is involved with one of these boards, and they STILL warp. On the plus side, when I called customer service I was hung up on. So, terrible customer service AND and disappointing long term product!

JOHN BOOS, THE BEST CUTTING BOARD!
This came yesterday. It definitely has weight to it. Very well packaged with a box within a box. What more can be said about these boards other than rock hard maple is the best you can get in a cutting board. It will cut your meat, chicken or whatever else and will not make a dent in the board itself. These boards are made to last perhaps not forever but a very long time. I bought this as a XMAS gift so my grandson can get rid of the acacia board which is too soft for safety not to mention bamboo. It is spendy I suppose but you have to think what you are buying and its quality. To me that speaks economy. There is a comment regarding "slip resistance". This board is not going to move on you. I am very pleased with this purchase along with the kit for its care.

Great board but after just a couple months it's already showing some cut marks
I really like this board, I do. but I have concerns for the long term. Pros 1. This thing is HUGE, tons of works space, my wife and I can work on this board at the same time cutting vegetables without getting in each others way. 2. It's heavy, that means it stays where you put it, no sliding around on the surface. 3. it looks great. Great color, good grain. 4. Easy to take care of. A quick wipe down, or if I am cutting meats a quick wipe with a damn soapy cloth then just a wet one to remove the soap and it's clean. Once a month hit it with some Boos Butcher Block Oil and a coat of Boos Butcher Block Creaam and it's good to go. Cons 1. It's HUGE. It won't fit in any of my cupboards or cabinets. I store it standing up at the end of my counter. 2. It's heavy. No issues for me but a person of smaller stature might find it really heavy and awkward to move around. 3. I'm about 2 monthis in and I am already starting to see some knife marks in the board. I'm going to have to watch and see how that develops. It may become a concern if it gets worse. This is honestly the first time I've bought more than the 3.99 cutting boards at the store so I don't know if the knife marks are normal on more expensive boards or not.
