LaMotte 2058 ColorQ Pro 11 Digital Liquid Pool & Spa Chemical Water Testing Kit

Was debating for a while over which testing kit to get. Researched a ton of kits. Decided to take the plunge and go with this kit. Once I read the directions and a few reviews, this kit is very easy. The three you need to use tablets for, CYA, iron and copper, just set those up first. Run your other tests, and the tablets will dissolve and be ready by the time you get to those specific tests. I did mine inside. Readings were fast and accurate. Exactly spot on per my Clorox test strips. I’ll update when it’s time to replace the chemicals and how easy it is to find them. I went with this kit even though I don’t need the last two BR tests, because it wasn’t that much more expensive and if I ever decide to go that route I’m covered. Great kit, great packaging. One thing I would suggest is to get some desiccant packs for the box. I put two in just incase the tubes weren’t to totally dry. This will keep my electronic tester from getting any moisture damage. Over all very pleased with the reliability and ease of use with this kit.

This is what I've been looking for since we built our pool. I have waited for over a month before posting a review in order to completely test the accuracy of the device. It is quick and accurate. The reagents supplied were well within their expiry dates. It is simple to use and beats trying to match colors to a palette. I look forward to using this tool for years.

i Like the digital read out. I didn’t like cleaning the little tubes. They also take a while to air dry so they spent more time outside the case.Also don’t waste money on the colorq11 like I did just go with the color7 is this if for a private pool.One other note I went back to the Taylor k-2006, it’s just a better kit for me.

I have started to treat my own pool. Had a service that did maintenice for years. Wanted an easy-to-use but most importantly RELIABLE and accurate test kit. This one is on many recommended lists. Over the last two months I've done at least three readings a week trying to get my pool cheicals in balance. In that time I've learned a good deal about pool chemicals. What I was discovered was that this test kit was accurate on CH (chlorine) ALK (alkalinity) and pH but my calcium hardness (CH) was WAY off. After rains here in Southern California this February and March CH level plummeted from a normal level of CH (about 300) to 117. I have a 30,000 gal pool and added an 8 lbs box of calcium chloride. I went from 117 to 155. Still needing to raise CH to at least 250ppm I added another 24 lbs of calcium chloride. That's a total of 32 pounds of calcium!! I brushed my pool to break up any granules that might be on the bottom and waited for at least two complete cycles of filtration and performed another CH test only to see that the ColorQ results showed a DROP in CH. Impossible! I then went to my local pool supply store to have them test the water. Their exam showed my calcium hardness level at a healthy 420ppm. I called LaMotte for technical support. Spoke with a very helpful tech who had me go thru everything in my kit. What we discovered is that many of the chemicals had EXPIRED. He asked where I purchased. Jamlyn-Supply on Amazon. He said they have had A LOT of issues with this company sending out kits with expired or nearly expired chemicals and machines that are YEARS OLD. The one they sent me was made in 2016. A LIFETIME in electronics. Note about the chemicals; All the checmicals included in Lamotte kits, except for one, should have a two year shelf life from your date of purchase. I did reach out to the seller and they've refunded my purchase. But PLEASE ask before buying (from anyone) if the testing chemicals are fresh. This is an expensive kit and the amount of chems that come with the initial kit should last for about 100 complete tests. If you're testing once a week that's just under two years. Good luck!

A friend had told me to purchase this and I did. I let it sit for about a year in storage as I was continuing to use the pool store to tell me how to adjust my pool. I definitely messed up my pool quite a few times throughout the last four years of having it in the beginning of this year or summer of 2020 I’m on everything that’s going on in the world I let my pool turn green and the whole family was staring me down as it was my fault. I ended up bringing this test kit out of storage learned how to use it and I never look back. I also switched from powders to liquids which makes a big difference in taking care of the pool and for the rest of the summer it looks crystal-clear like the photos you see. I have to say the computer read out makes it super fast and easy for me to do this before work in the morning and I haven’t been back to the pool store since using this. No need because as you see from the photos looking really good

I ordered this test kit on Amazon from VM Express, and it arrived with expired reagents. I called the customer service number, and after two weeks they finally rejected my claim because, and I quote “we don’t have any ne ones to send you, so we can’t help you”. The kit itself is great, easy to use and from what I can tell with expired reagents, accurate. Stay far away from VM Express.

After the first time through instuctions worked well.Easy to use. Still lots of steps but easy. Compared results with a pool service and matched well.
