Cleaver and funny!
A good book to use by teachers if you are looking for a picture book about persuasive writing. A cute book about a young boy who is happy his parents trust him to be alone for a bit, however, he discovers it is a bit scary and that maybe there is a monster hiding somewhere in his home. He tries to convince that nonexisting monster that he should wait for his brother Dan to come home because he would taste even more delicious. Reminded me of The Three Billy Goats.

LOVED IT!!
This book is EXCELLENT to use for a mentor text for persuasive text. I have had the opportunity to meet Steven Layne at a conference and could picture him reading it. He is amazing as is the book. You can't go wrong with any of his books either for professional growth adult books or his children's books.

Cute story.
This is a good book for teaching reasoning skills. It 's a good story with a good "moral" at the end.

My Brother Dan's DELICIOUS
Great book. Grade 6-7-8 writing teachers: this is a mentor text from Corbett Harrison's Writing Fix site. If you don't use it, check it out. He also has great writing products available - my students love them.

Persusasive text at it's best!
Great mentor text for teaching persusasive. I teach a 4/5 combination, they loved the picture book! My students read it over and over when they had "take a break" silent reading time.

Great for teaching persuasive writing. I used this text as a model to help my class write reviews. Coupled with "Earrings" great mentor texts.
