We installed this at the top of our deck stairs.It’s nice and sturdy. Easy to install. Works great!

The standard to which all baby and pet gates should be measured. Sturdy, easy to install, looks nice and don't stand out like the cheesy plastic interior of a 90's domestic car that so many of these things do. I can't attest to how well it works for children, but we have these throughout the house and they hold back our three Weimaraner dogs without difficulty. Picture is of the most recent purchase, which also has the extension they make.

This is a great gate. We needed it to keep our dog from leaving the porch. The reviews that say it’s too complicated to open, are simply not true in our experience. It’s a good, simple gate, looks nice installed, made very well, and at a great price. It appears to be made well enough to last a long time. It’s stable, a perfect height, and moves easily. I would purchase again, if we ever need another.

Strong, easy to install, and it doesn't budge easily, but if you try hard enough it will move. Bought 4 to secure the kitchen / dining area for the new puppy and they've been metaphorically worth their weight in gold.One had a slight defect. One of the bolts / screws at the bottom is cracked at the foot, but it doesn't affect the gate in any way. If you wind up with a damaged bolt / screw just use it for the bottom of the frame.It's held in place by friction, but the kit includes cups that can be screwed into the door frame that prevent the feet from shifting. My puppy isn't big enough to need that yet. It's not indestructible, but if the cups are installed the only way to budge the gate would be to snap the bolts and that would be very difficult. I'd possibly break something before those bolts could snap.My puppy is currently 27 pounds and these gates are tough enough for double that.

This outdoor gate has been awesome. I have a one, two, and five year old and it has held up at the top of the stairs on our deck. My five year old has ADHD/ASD and I’m always concerned about her taking off outside. But she has yet to figure out this gate which has been a relief. It has gotten a little difficult to latch/unlatch as time has gone on, I’m assuming from exposure to the elements. But I’m not really complaining too much because it’s so sturdy. Now to find a fully 5 year old proof gate for indoors!

Relatively easy to install, easy to use, and seems sturdy enough. Love that there's no bottom threshold to step over. Biggest (and only) problem is that it doesn't stay open by itself. Luck and gravity may stop it from swinging shut for some lucky people, but there's no mechanism to hold it open or to lock it open. Be prepared to leave it closed all the time, put a cinderblock in front of it, or invent your own way to create a custom catch to keep it open.

We have a deck with a long set of descending stairs. We wanted a sturdy gate that secures the opening so no kids go tumbling down the stairs. This gate is sturdy, matches our black deck railings, and installs easily. This gate has an adjustable width as well as a lock to set which way it opens. It has lasted two winters so far and still works great!
