Tiffany-Style Treasure In Terrible Packaging
Let's start with the bad news. The only remotely non-positive thing I can say about the lamp is that the packaging is an environmental hate crime. There is alot of styrofoam, and one of the boxes looked like it had been dipped in oil, although somehow the oil didn't really made it onto the lamp. The styrofoam packing material lacks any semblance of structural integrity and it will literally dissolve into little white pellets so that it will look like a chemical factory exploded in your living room. One of the other reviewers recommended opening the packaging inside a black garbage bag and I did that and it helped alot. It would have been really ridiculous otherwise. Now let's move on to the good news. Clearly, they took the money they saved on buying the world's cheapest and least environmentally friendly packaging and spent it on making the lamp (not to mention the free shipping, which probably is a good amount for a lamp of this heft). If you are in the market for a Tiffany style lamp and you like the way that this lamp looks online, then take the plunge, because it is one of those few things on Amazon that looks better in person than it is online. The lamp base is metal. It is heavy. It has a feeling of solidity and feels well made. There is a predominately dark brown color to the base, and the edges of the design have a copperish tinge to them. The lighter edging color highlights the unique look of the lamp. The top is glass, or at least appears to be glass, and it is heavy. While the top looks whitish, the lamp gives off a warm yellowish hue. If you put LED daylight bulbs in the lamp, the hue will be a little less yellow, but it remains warm and inviting. The bulb sockets are well machined and firm. There is no play in the lamp except in the shade, which, for obvious space considerations, is the one thing that you, as the customer, will be attaching to the lamp. The play in the shade can be as much or as little as you want depending on how hard you screw in the top piece. Of course, having two bulbs, the lamp gives off a good amount of light and certainly adds brightness, but in a warm inviting way, to any room.I bought one lamp, not being all that sure about how it would look or whether it would go with our furniture, and was pleased when it arrived and we set it up. It looks nice generally, and if you are a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright, Mission, Shaker or Arts and Crafts Furniture, or would just like something neat and different, then odds are that you will find this lamp visually appealing and it likely will complement your existing decor quite nicely. After getting the lamp, and liking it, I decided to buy another, which is something I usually don't do.Finally, I have to say nice things about the company. There was a small issue with shipping, and they resolved it quickly and fairly. The Lamps Plus vendor is one of those stars on Amazon that stands behind their product and I had an exceptional experience buying from them.I hope that this helps you and best of luck with your shopping decision.

Beautiful warm glow!
We purchased two of these lamps to go on the nightstands in our bedroom. They are the perfect accent to our mission style furniture and we had not found a similar style locally. Plus the color of the shade is beautiful (even more so when they are turned on). When I first took the shades out of the box I was concerned if they were actually glass or acrylic. They seemed light weight and didn't feel like glass. I called Lamps Plus and they told me that they receive many calls questioning if the shades are glass and assured me that the shades are indeed glass. As someone who has created numerous stained glass windows using both the copper foil and the lead caming methods, I still wasn't a believer. I dug out a couple of lighter weight stained glass pieces so that I could compare them to the lamp shades. My husband and I both thought the shades probably were glass when we did the side-by-side comparison. I then started to wipe down the shades taking off a light oily residue. On the inside of the shade there was a small piece of solder missing and I saw the copper foil. In my mind that said this is glass because who would copper foil plastic and then flow solder. I don't know if plastic would hold up to that. (Additionally, in the kids craft kits, when they do plastic "stained glass" there is always a fake solder solution that is used.)So, all-in-all, we are very happy with these lamps. They are nice and substantial and were a fantastic price!

Love these lamps
They are in the Family Room, i think they are well made and a beautiful addition to our room. Having 2 lights makes it really nice when we need extra light to see something.

Great looking lamp! But plastic shade?
The lamp looks great. The base is very heavy, feels solid. However, the shade material itself leaves a bit to be desired. The description says "Shade with over 60 pieces of hand-cut Tiffany-style stained glass, assembled using the copper foil technique", but in person I could swear this was some kind of plastic shade. It isn't heavy like glass would be, and when touching it or tapping on it, it has no glass sound to it, it sounds very dull like plastic. So I can't say 100%, but if this is glass, I've never seen glass like this before. With that being said, it's still a very pretty lamp that looks great in my entryway. As long as nobody goes up and taps on the shade itself, I think it would fool most people.

Very rich looking lamp!
I'm in love with this lamp! It was well priced for the quality and style. It's a well-made lamp, the shade is beautiful too! I'm very glad I bought this, it fits the mission-style fixtures in the room, and I love the way the light diffuses through the glass shade.
