MAVEA Maxtra Replacement Filter for MAVEA Water Filtration Pitcher, 1-Pack, White

I got the pitcher on Amazon Vine so many years ago that I honestly don't recall when. My guess is about 10 or 11 years ago. I got worried when I stopped seeing the filters in stores, but I'm relieved that they're still online.

Consistently pure water! Easy to pop in water taste great.

Compared to some other filters I've used, the Mavea filters are far better. The water filters at a fairly reasonable rate, and the result is great-tasting clean water. I don't particularly like the taste of my tap water, so I keep a Mavea filter pitcher in the fridge. It's really easy.I have a subscription for one of these periodically to force me to actually change the filter (it's easy to ignore the timer on the pitcher I have). Even using the same filter for longer than recommended, the water still tastes great. But a new filter helps the water go through faster, it seems.As other reviewers said, you do need to soak/rinse this and run water through it before using it. But it's a fairly easy process that doesn't take much time.

Since Brita was bought out by Clorox (how ironic!), things have changed in the way the Brita bottles hold up and the filters don't always stay in place. I researched and found that MAVEA was the original Brita and bought the MAVEA 1001125 Elemaris XL 9-Cup Water Filtration Pitcher, Black here on Amazon. This filter fits this pitcher and is very attractive. Water definitely tastes better (I did a taste test with my Brita vs. Mavea). Filter fits snuggly in place and you do not get the floating black particles in your water. Highly recommend this product. There are some reviews about the handle breaking and I called Mavea before purchasing and they assured me that they fixed the problem.

Loving the Mavea water filtration pitcher. The water quality is so clean and fresh. I use about a gallon a day. With the very poor quality of our water, the filter is still good after a month. A purchased this extra one to have on hand because the pitcher is still new, and we don't know how long the filter will last. It makes such a huge difference in water quality that we don't want to get caught without it. I can't imagine going back to either tap water or hauling plastic gallons of water upstairs.

Unfortunately, the company has discontinued their NA operations, so the pitchers are almost impossible to find! I still have mine, and I'm glad I can still get these replacement filters for it. We have hard water where I live, and this makes the water taste so much better!

This is wonderful, I love the coffee that comes out of this machine. I am a big coffee lover and this is the only coffee that i can drink from home. Wish it was easier to find , this filter makes it just a little better , We use the Maxwell house morning blend large cup ..It makes a cup large enough for a traveling mug,so far no other coffee makes one like that. It 's just aw some!!

First, let me just say that these filters and the entire Mavea line stand head and shoulders above the Brita filters I've used, and for a comparable price, too. I've found that mine last for a little more than a month, but I do tend to refill the pitcher once a day almost every weekday, and usually twice a day on weekends. My only complaint is that there isn't ever an actual "click" into place the way the package promises, so I always end up being a little worried at first about whether I've gotten the seams sealed so that no unfiltered water trickles through. That minor issue aside, the filter is very effective and part of a good system designed by Mavea.
