Works with Apple LED Cinema Display 27" and M1 Mac Mini
Used it to connect M1 Mac Mini to old Apple Cinema Display 27" via HDMI -- has worked flawlessly so far. Previously I used a thunderbolt 3 to Mini DisplayPort adapter for the same monitor, but that had sleep/wake issues requiring me to often unplug/re-plug the monitor form the Mac to wake it. So far, this HDMI solution has not had any sleep/wake problems. Only downside is that it takes up one of the USB-A slots on the back of the Mac (necessary since it is a powered adapter).

Mac mini to Apple Cinema Display Success!
M1 Mac mini HDMI to Apple Cinema Display 24" with Mini Displayport. I wanted to use the HDMI output to free up a USB port. Other products did not work. Note: the "USB powered cable" MUST also be plugged into the Mac mini as in the product photo.

May work and then it may NOT with Apple Cinema Display 30"
After reading reviews on this item, it seems to me that there is room for more granularity on the subject of devices generating the HDMI signal, and not just information on the monitors it will support, i.e.: APPLE CINEMA DISPLAY 30" w/ APPLE MINI DISPLAY PORT TO DUAL-LINK DVI ADAPTER...In my case, I was truly thrilled to discover this connector, where it was explained it supported the idea of using newer Lap Tops, i.e.: "MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)" with older displays such as the APPLE CINEMA DISPLAY 30", only to be disappointed after buying it twice and having to return them after they both failed.I tried two scenarios that applied to my equipment on hand:- MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)- Belkin Thunderbolt 2 Express 2 Dock- FOINNEX HDMI to Mini Displayport Adapter/Converter 4K@30Hz, Active HDMI (the connector in question)- Official Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter- Apple Cinema Display 30" Monitor1st scenario:1. from either one of the two thunderbolt ports of a: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) , connected to either one of the two thunderbolt ports of a: Belkin Thunderbolt 2 Express 2 Dock2. from the HDMI port of the: Belkin Thunderbolt 2 Express 2 Dock, connected to the HDMI connector of the: FOINNEX HDMI to Mini Displayport Adapter/Converter 4K@30Hz, Active HDMI3. from both: the female Mini DisplayPort connector, and USB connector of the: FOINNEX HDMI to Mini Displayport Adapter/Converter 4K@30Hz, Active HDMI, connected respectively to both:- the male Mini DisplayPort connector of the: official Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter- and one of the two USB ports of the MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)4. from both the female DVI connector, and the USB connector of the: official Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter, connected respectively to both:- the DVI male connector of the: Apple Cinema Display 30" Monitor- and the USB connector of the: Apple Cinema Display 30" MonitorResult: DID NOT WORK (No image on the monitor)Scenario 2:I decided to remove the Belkin Thunderbolt 2 Express 2 Dock all together and tried this setup:1. from the HDMI port of the: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015), connected to the HDMI connector of the: FOINNEX HDMI to Mini Displayport Adapter/Converter 4K@30Hz, Active HDMI2.from both: the female Mini DisplayPort connector, and USB connector of the: FOINNEX HDMI to Mini Displayport Adapter/Converter 4K@30Hz, Active HDMI, connected respectively to both:- the male Mini DisplayPort connector of the: official Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter- and one of the two USB ports of the MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 20153. from both the female DVI connector, and the USB connector of the: official Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter, connected respectively to both:- the DVI male connector of the: Apple Cinema Display 30" Monitor- and the USB connector of the: Apple Cinema Display 30" MonitorResult: DID NOT WORK (No image on the monitor)Consequently I reached out to the 'service@foinnex.com' and thoroughly articulated my setup(s).Their response:"Thank you so much for provide the test detail to us . We think it is helpful to improve our technical support . I will pass your report to our engineer. And we feel so sorry that the product didn't work . "In conclusion I would just like to re-iterate, that there is probably more compatibility testing that needs to happen, so that consumers may be more aware if this connector with their gear in hand, clearly I am one of those for whom this connector/adaptor simply didn't work... Great Idea, but needs more testing in my opionion...

Worked exactly as advertised
This item workes just as it is described. Quite expensive but then again, hard to find any better alternative to be honest. If you want to use you Apple Cinemascreen on anything but an Mac, then look no further.

Apple LED Cinema Display - Perfect pair w/Mac mini (2018)
Looked for quite a few adapters so I can connect two 27inch Apple Thunderbolt displays and add the Apple LED Cinema as a third display to Mac mini (2018). This product worked seamlessly. So impressed.

Adapter does not work with Apple's 30" Cinema Display A1083
The manufacturer of the adapter, stated in their description, "HDMI to Mini Displayport Adapter/Converter 4K@30Hz, FOINNEX Active HDMI Male to Mini DP Female Video Connector Cable for Apple Cinema Display(24/27/30 Inch)"I own and use an Apple, 30" Cinema Display [M9179LL/A - A1083], which has a Dual-Link DVI interface, with a maximum native resolution of, 2560x1600. This monitor works great when connected to a MacPro with an Apple authorized video adapter card. I was seeking to connect it also to my Windows 10 Pro 64-bit PC using NVidia's EVGA GeForce GTX 1650 (G5), DisplayPort 1.4a, HDMI 2.0b, which fully supports resolutions up to 4K and beyond(7680x4320@120Hz Max Resolution). This adapter when connected to my PC, within both Windows Display Configuration and also NVidia's driver configuration panel, both state that the display has a max resolution of 1280x800(native). The failure of this adapter to correctly interpret and handshake between the Apple monitor and the video card, in my PC, deems this adapter a failing grade. My recommendation, verify with the manufacturer of your current video card's tech support, PRIOR, to purchasing any adapter for compliance with the monitor one is using, or seeking to use.
